This always seemed like a pretty likely possibility, it never made sense to have a minor league season without fans because those teams get little to no tv and radio money, and fans by September seems pretty slim most places.

Harrisburg, Pa.
Without fans, there is no reason to have a traditional MiLB season imo. Set up camp in Florida or whatever and have them play simulation games and all.

They'll infect each other.

Most of these guys have to share crowded apartments in order to have just enough money to eat at Wendy's on the road.
Wouldn't it be better to have them in a central location where housing, transportation etc. can be better coordinated and controlled?

Running the minor leagues out of Spring Training facilities seems like a smart path forward to me. In addition to the stadium, these facilities have at least 3 MLB quality fields in their complex.

Keepin' it real in Maine
The Portland Sea Dogs officially offered fans refunds on tickets for the 2020 season, so if they do play, it will be without fans.
