2-2 Juve, Sturaro. Bayern didn´t score and let up, Juve went for it and Bayern´s make-up defense couldn´t hold up. 15mins to go, I guess Juve will go for another, interesting match.

Wow, wish I'd been watching this. 2-0 Barca now as Messi puts away a penalty.

Two entertaining matches yesterday in Wolfsburg-Gent and RM-Roma. Roma should have taken the lead several times in the first hour, but eventually their defense wore down and Ronaldo & company got to them. Wolfsburg won 1-0 but it could easily have been 3 or 4; Schurrle got whatever he wanted for 80+ minutes, but pissed most of it away.

Tomorrow is PSG-Chelsea, with an undercard of Benfica-Zenit. If Chelsea can pull off the upset (as they nearly did last year), and the rest of the favorites hold, then 7 of the final 8 teams in the UCL would be from the top 3 coefficient countries: 3 from Spain, 2 from Germany and 2 from England. Of Italy's two hopes in the R16, Roma is already out, and Juventus would have to win @ Bayern next Weds.

Costa with no intention to go to the ball, just to kick Zlatan in the shin. If the ref sees that, that´s a yellow card, as no ball is involved. I doubt you can give a red card, maybe for dumbness.

Azpilicueta+Fabregas were sleeping before the cross, now 1-2 and PSG basically through with 22mins to play. Chelsea needs four.

Well, three (a 5-4 aggregate would suffice, and it's 2-4 now), but it doesn't change your point.

How did Benfica look in their match earlier, did anyone watch?

Thanks to the unknown reason why we change our clocks on a different date than Europe, today's games are at 3:45pm.

I should fake some sort of illness this afternoon so that I can go home to watch the game in peace rather than pretending I'm doing work. Then again, I risk pissing off my wife who will say "Oh, so you'll take a fake sick day to watch Atletico but not to [insert something less exciting than watching Aletico]".

This is why you play a sick card at work, but watch at the bar.

I hope PSV keeps it tight, so we have at least one close match tonight. German tv studio with a big report about Diego Simeone and how far Atletico will go this season. Everybody (Ottmar Hitzfeld, Uwe Rösler, Erik Meijer) is just saying it depends who they play in the next round - but NO word about PSV or that Atletico could even run into trouble if it´s 0-0 at the half or if PSV scores first.

I bet Kiev wins 1-0 after Aguero gets sent off with a 2nd yellow card.
And I bet PSV makes it into extra time with a 0-0.

Right but even after they recover the ball in their own half, they work it around the back before attacking instead of trying to catch them on the break. But I do agree that PSV is defending well and is staying organized.

Atletico needed to score in the first half when Carrasco was on. Some Atletico fans are beginning to think that Koke needs to come off, not Carrasco. Plus, Godin's injury--I'm assuming that's what it was--prevented the second sub, which could have been Correa, who attacks well one-on-one, or Vietto, a player with pace.

Has Vietto gotten much run this year and how has he done? I think he's a tremendous player and he did very well in the Yellow Sub last season.
Vietto has not played to potential, though he's' been good. He hasn't looked quite comfortable yet in Simeone's system, which is admittedly quite hard. He's had moments when you've seen his talent, which is very good and looks to grow. I'm excited to have him under Simeone.

I didn´t understood why Cocu took off his captain and topscorer Luuk de Jong (someone like that has to take a penalty) 2mins before the match was over. The great 2nd leg tactics was on Cocu and the substitution was also on him. But when one out of eight misses a penalty, it´s just bad luck.

So Robben seems to be out (missed training yesterday) for Bayern, Coman should be in for him. Javi Martinez could join the squad.
For Juve, Chiellini is out, as well as Dybala and Marchisio. Morata could play in front, as well as Mandzukic, but he isn´t at 100% either, it seems.
Hernanes or Sturaro who played a good game as subs in the first leg, could now start in Marchisio´s place.

Bayern has to play more concentrated for the entire match, then they should really whip them. Usually I like Juve´s style, but i think they are in trouble and will lose 3-1.

I hope Barca comes out strong, scores two early goals, so Wenger subs off everybody of importance (Özil especially) to get some rest. Then Barca should kick them down the street like they do with their LaLiga opponents from the bottom of the table. Mertesacker gets knots in his legs if he plays tonight...I hope they finish Arsenal with five goals and Arsenal is someday fired. A club with such huge potential and such a stubborn guy ruining it.

I know this is a typo, but I found it to be a great one. Arsenal should just fire everyone.

OMG what a goal.
Juve with a superb start, pressing with many men in Bayern´s half. Then with a high bouncing pass into Bayern´s box, Alaba looked away, missed the ball and Neuer should have just caught it, as no Bayern player touched it intentionally...he kicked it away, the ball came somehow across the box to Pogba´s feet who just had to finish it into a semi-empty net with just Xabi Alonso as Neuer´s cover and it´s 1-0 Juve. Bye-bye Bayern, but 80+minutes to play.

I'd love to see Arsenal get a goal, but they look so outclassed. They don't look capable of giving it a right good go. At least make it uncomfortable for Barca.

Bayern lucky to get an offside call on another misplayed ball by Neuer. They are really nervous, Juve is playing confident and definitely more efficient.
Bayern is looking for an idea or something. I hope they bring Thiago for Alonso, he is so slow, i don´t get why he keeps playing. I wonder if Ribery is ready for 90mins and if Pep will turn to Götze, OTOH.
BANG and Cuadrado makes it 2-0 after a Morata singlehandedly dribbles 60m through the midfield and 5 Bayern players. Kimmich (after being involved in both goals in 1st leg) was one of those involved here, they had to foul Morata on the counter. So poor defensive behaviour here. It would also be fun to see Pep fired, i have to admit...

Fuck 'em, Fletch -- turn on the other game if you have access to it. It has the look of a classic.
