I mean, I don't know how you could not hire Orgeron after taking that shit show to a 9 win season, especially after being only a couple weeks removed from a big win over Stanford. In my opinion, you make the switch if you can land a true game changer but not for a re-tread like Sarkisian. And given Orgeron's reaction, you have to wonder if he was led to believe that he was going to be the guy. They clearly had both guys in play.
It is a much easier job?jsinger121 said:They should have thrown the world at Chris Petersen. I don't get why he stays at Boise State when he can have any big job. He could rule at USC.
With no chance at National Title or less of a chance of a major bowl with the new system in place. He has tapped out at Boise State in my view.Cellar-Door said:It is a much easier job?

He wasn't. Reports say Sumlin was the target but he didn't want to leave A&M.

Hey guys, look what we have here.sachmoney said:Yeah, it's not like Sarkisian had anyone sketchy on his staff at Washington (btw, Lupoi is coming with him to USC).
Totally underwhelmed by the hire. Surprised. I don't think Orgeron is or was the solution, but I don't think Sarkisian is the answer. Haden really shanked this one, in my opinion. USC could have done better.

I actually had a little crush on her myself. Her dad was a professor in Amherst at the time I was going to college, and I had a journalism professor that wrote a great book about her state champion basketball team. I thought she was great.Old Fart Tree said:My dad really liked the way Jamila Wideman played basketball. Smart, tough little point guard. He thought she was cute, and that I would invariably date her.
I never had the heart to tell him that I... wasn't exactly her type.

The heart wants what the heart wants. Kevin Smith made a movie about this. Also, that one with Omar Epps.Old Fart Tree said:Yeah. I just wasn't her type. Why is a pass-first point guard ever going to date a guy who shoots less than 40% from the field? I didn't even bother.
USC offensive coordinator Clay Helton, who guided the Trojans to a 45-20 victory over Fresno State on Saturday in the Las Vegas Bowl, will be retained by new Coach Steve Sarkisian, The Times has learned.
A person with knowledge of the situation confirmed that Helton would remain on staff.
Sarkisian previously announced that receivers coach Tee Martin would be part of his staff.
Sarkisian implemented a no-huddle, hurry-up offense at Washington this season and plans to run it next season with the Trojans.
Helton, 41, was offensive coordinator at Memphis before coming to USC in 2010 and has experience running a no-huddle offense.

"I am going to pursue Ed here one more time," Sarkisian told the "Trojan Brunch" show on ESPNLA 710. "I thought about him again after the game on the ride home. I think when emotions get settled down, and I know that was an emotional time for Ed and not getting named the head coach when he thought he should have been deservedly so, I would have felt the same way. When the emotions settle down, Ed's a great Trojan and he's meant a lot to the Trojan family and if we can have that opportunity for him to be part of this football program and be here with us, we'd love to have him."
Sarkisian has more motivation to reach out to Orgeron after news surfaced this week that Tosh Lupoi, his defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator at Washington was being investigated for potential rules violations after he allegedly paid for tutoring and online classes for a recruit.

Jessica Mendoza, on the other hand... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jessica_Mendoza - I mean, I basically should have just told her upfront that even though I was 19 and not ready to commit, I knew I wanted kids with great bat speed, and therefore we should have been together forever.
