I could listen to Zo incredulously ask Patriots SB opponents what the hell they're doing endlessly on a loop for the rest of my days.

This is awesome, but the sync is toast by the overtime kick. Did Vimeo screw it up when it got pushed to them?
There's a couple of plays that are off a few seconds.
I had to sync every play because the radio was uncut while the game Feed was sped up.

The picks are magnified in the Super Bowl but tims4wins has it right.

FTR, I vote for the Carolina 4th quarter pick as the "worst" of his playoff career. A TD there and the game is pretty much over (12 point lead with 6 minutes left). Even a FG makes it an 8 point game with about 6 minutes left, not impossible for Carolina to come back and win, but the Pats still firmly in command of the game. I would think in terms of win probability that pick has to be the one that swung things the most of his Super Bowl INTs, far more than the Falcons one.
No, because you're playing out what happened after that Brady pick against Carolina. A team with the ball on own 10, with 7 minutes left, down 5 wins about 14% of the time.

Win Probability
4th Quarter, 7:00 remaining, trailing by 5,ball at team 10, 1st down & 10 to go:
Expected Points: -0.38
Win Probability: 14.00%

The pick 6 against ATL, moved it from about 80% ATL to 96% ATL.

Someday I'll learn about speculating about this kind of thing instead of looking it up. Thanks for the reference.

I already deleted the project heh. I threw it into another project that is a behemoth (think 16 TBs of footage) and didn't want them crossing the streams.

But it comes back in sync. It's only off for a short bit.

Wonder how many times in NFL playoff history a team has thrown a pick six and won. I know it was the first time in Super Bowl history against 11 losses IIRC
Including SB51, and going back to 1940, this was the 19th victory of 110 pick sixes (101 playoff games), making teams 19-91 when throwing a pick six. This was actually the first win in 13 attempts, although all but four of them have happened this decade (67, 76, 83, 85).

All victories have only been one pick six, and only four have gone to OT. The others, starting with the earliest are as follows, with the first team listed threw the pick six/won; year listed is the season, not necessarily the actual year the game took place:

That 2006 one still stings a bit, although that team had no business being in that game. Amazing that they were essentially a first down away from yet another ring. (They were not losing to that Bears team).

Wasn't there a clip of Quinn in his post-game interview being questioned about something and him not being able to remember. I seem to recall his answer was something like "it's all a blur."

And that isn't meant as a slight against Quinn, I think that is how most humans are wired: when adrenaline is extremely high, your short-term recall goes down, after the fact. It's why eyewitnesses to traumatic events are so unreliable.

Rather, Quinn's normal reaction is more a reflection on how ABNORMAL BB is.
To me, it's an illustration of why psychopathy exists in our gene pool. Under some circumstances, for some life paths, it's actually adaptive. When BB puts his game face on, when he shifts into Football Gear, his mind is clear and unclouded by doubts, competing priorities, or emotions. Jimmy Kimmel goes a little bit down the road of pointing this out, BB starts going along with it and it's practically scary.

In a prehistoric tribe somewhere, BB's ancestor was legendary at collaboratively hunting big game, clearly made decisions for the tribe, and definitely left some weak children behind during a tough winter.

Because they should have lost to SD in the Divisional Round. Only a miraculous strip by Troy Brown after Brady's final INT gave them a chance.
They still had a chance. Down 8 with 6:00 left and timeouts and SD would have had it around their own 35. It was a huge play, especially because it was 4th down so all he needs to do is defend the pass and not pick it, but SD still would have needed points or a few first downs to end it.

Absolutely but their odds of winning after the INT were slim, particularly with that 2006 offense not being very impressive.

Plus LDT ran for approximately eleventy zillion yards in the first half and only had a handful of carries in the second half (sound familiar?). It was a miracle they made it to the AFCCG. SD was loaded.

Edit: but you can make an argument that if you alter the results of three single plays, the Pats would have 8 titles. That is absurd.

2006 AFCCG 3rd down incompletion to Brown
Scottish Game duh
2011 Welker

And that doesn't take into account other near misses like 2015 etc.

It is absurd... but with the exception of 2005 against the Eagles...any of the Super Bowls the Pats played in could've gone 'either way.' We've taken some stomach punch losses, but we've also dished them out. This team has been so fun to be a fan of over the last 15+ years for countless reasons, but the tense, close SBs they've played in has certainly enhanced that for me.

You missed the 2nd pick in 49 on the opening drive of the 3rd quarter

What about Garo Yepremian's pass against the Redskins?

EDIT: nm...i never realized until 30 seconds ago that that play was recorded as a fumble return.

Thanks for posting this one Denny. On Edelman's catch, there is an angle view at about 16:33 where he stretches his whole body like plastic man to like he was 6'6 or something to make the catch. Don't know if I'd seen that particular angle before. Definitely top 2 - 3 super bowl catch.

It looks like one of the 4K cameras was on the goal-line on the sideline across from where White scored the winning TD in the red end zone (where Freeman scored the first TD). The three or four shots of action right there are great.

You know, if Edelman doesn't get there, I think Allen has a shot at the interception. He might have been able to get it off Alford's leg.

Watching that NFL Films vid above. Some new stuff. Did Ryan really have to apologize to Julio Jones for not getting him that ball on their last TD play?

If this part doesn't give you chills...
“I was joking with my wife earlier this week,” Brady said. “She said, ‘Oh great, babe. Now you can retire because I know you always wanted to win another Super Bowl.’ I said, ‘You know, this is actually when it's really fun.’”

It’s fun now, Brady said, because he knows what’s coming. He feels great, and you can’t fool him.

“I have the answers to the test now,” Brady said.

“You can’t surprise me on defense. I’ve seen it all. I’ve processed 261 games, I’ve played them all. It’s an incredibly hard sport, but because the processes are right and are in place, for anyone with experience in their job, it’s not as hard as it used to be. There was a time when quarterbacking was really hard for me because you didn’t know what to do. Now I really know what to do, I don’t want to stop now. This is when it’s really enjoyable to go out.”

Spoiled for size.
I was born in '79, and remember the '86 Celtics but not the '81 obviously or '84. From then on I watched team after team I rooted for loose in heartbreaking ways, we all have these stories, but what blows me away is this. My kids born in '05, '07 and '10 see a championship or parade every 2 years, they have no concept of what it's like not to see championships won. They have no idea how lucky they are and I try hard to explain to them this isn't normal. This graphic will help prove that, they have lived a charmed sporting life...
