Is it just me or has there been an unusual amount of "Mid week surprise" Injuries this year.

Guy gets dinged in a game and doesnt practice Tuesday, weds and Thursday you get it.

But guys playing the whole game, practicing early in the week then missing Thursday and not flying seems like its happened alot this year.

I assume (??) its a practice injury rather then if they had something that they could aggravate. Seems like they would limit that exposure.

Not trying to assign blame on anyone just commenting on bad luck i guess.

Andrews wasn't listed on the injury report after yesterday's practice so it doesn't sound like something happened in practice that injured him, but I guess we'll find out later

I think they can get by with another interior lineman for a couple of weeks. With the exception of QB, this team has been and will be able to do the next man up thing well all year and in some cases play better, as the injuries to bigger name players mount (Hightower, Gilmore, Brown, Cannon, Hogan to name a few). Last week there was panic about LaAdrian Waddle blocking Von Miller and they gave him help and made it work.

Interior lineman injuries worry me more than tackle injuries. Brady and protection help can work around a lot of issues, but not quick interior pressure. So hopefully this is something minor.

No reports. Wondering if it is altitude sickness. That can knock you back.
IANAD, but altitude sickness usually kicks in the first 12-24 hours you are higher up, then your body adjusts. If he practiced at Air Force for a couple days, I doubt it was because of altitude sickness that he had to miss a day, especially after coming from Denver.

I think Mitchell would become the #2 receiver if he came back today. That seems much more important than Valentine.

Am I wrong to think DL depth is easier to cover with practice squanders? WRs with a track record with Brady seem much harder to find than big bodies. Grissom (I know he's more of a DE than an inside guy) and Mike Purcell seem more like to contribute than Cody Hollister.

Plus the fact there could be another injury opening another spot...

Too much depth isn’t the dominant problem in the long run.

Counterpoint: the offense is the best in football without Mitchell all year. The run defense and front seven generally is the weakest link on the team.

Is that yet another jab at Ealy?

Where are all the "We never should have traded Jimmy!" hot takes?

The Pats are 16.5 favorites with Brady. They would still be favored if Hoyer got the start.

"Linebackers Trevor Reilly (head), Kyle Van Noy (leg) and Marquis Flowers (leg), defensive end Trey Flowers (ribs) and safety Nate Ebner (knee) all suffered injuries in the Week 12 matchup. Offensive lineman LaAdrian Waddle (ankle) also left the game.

Reilly, Van Noy, Ebner and Waddle, who was spotted after the game in a walking boot, didn’t return to the game. Marquis Flowers did finish, and Trey Flowers came back onto the field for a series before leaving again and departing for the locker room."
