I think you misread the situation...
I think so too. What was it then? It looked like Pogba grabbing Matuidi's head and pushing him toward the sideline. Then when it cut back he was arguing with Belgium players

California. Duh.
There really should be another minute and a half or so. We will see what they add.

EDIT: 15 seconds. Laughable.

Time being wasted after 45' is the one clock-related issue I believe should be addressed with some rule change. That said, it's uniquely bad in these WC semifinals, where a yellow card is a meaningless punishment.

I'd have loved to see what Belgium could have done with the free kick that should have been given on the Hazard non-foul.

I think Belgium can be proud. They were unlucky to play France. They beat Brazil, they had a legendary comeback against Japan. They are probably the second or third best team in the world. Well done!

A France-England final would be so awesome if just for the chants from the English fans.

I thought Holden made a good point about how in a game like that there comes a time when you have to take it on yourself to just do what is needed to advance even if you're a little out of your comfort zone. I thought Pogba did that especially -- just playing box to box and doing whatever they needed him to do when they needed it. I also thought that Giroud showed a tremendous work rate and made a number of memorable plays even though he couldn't put a ball in the ocean from the beach at the moment (which means, of course, he'll score twice in the final).

You could say the same about some of the Belgium players, but, of course, they didn't get the goal and France did, so that's that.

This France team is so deep. Belgium just didn't have the wide players to trouble France who played a very compact, stout match. Have to tip your cap.

My super controversial opinion is that Hazard is a really good player who overcomplicates his football. Maybe better expanded upon in the Belgium thread or something but there are no bonus points for dribbling through 3 players when a pass and move would suffice. It's essentially moot now but there's just something missing there for me.

edit: Not to overstate it though, he's a fantastic player and on another day Belgium finds a free header and France goes home and there's nobody even entertaining any thoughts about Hazard. Guess I was just spurred on my Marciano's crush.

Yeah, in the past he was far more wasteful with his dribbling- I thought it was very purposeful this tournament, and he was pushing it into dangerous areas when nothing else was going on. Should have drawn two free kicks just outside the box.

Underrated fact: Meuenier's absence threw Belgium's formation out of whack and despite Martinez trying everything, nothing really clicked against a very solid team.

Probably:
We're all part of Gareth's army
We will storm ol' gay Paree
And we'll really shake them up
When we win the World Cup
'Cos England are the greatest football team

Or, post-goal:
