I only have two, I mean 4, so far, but maybe other people will find some things they didn't know about before.

1. Longer quoted posts, at least in mobile browsing are mostly hidden, except for the start.
2. Larger Avatars.

edit 3. The online status of members. Which can also be changed by each member.

edit 4. Your avatar appears as a small avatar in threads you have posted it. Looks like it's only working on new threads so far. But still cool.

I like that you get an alert when someone quotes you. It saves time in looking to see if you got any responses.

I like the quick links at the top of the page. The colors are getting better too. Thanks, guys!

The mobile site is unquestionably a huge upgrade. With the new styling updates it looks incredible I think. Well done.

Having the number of unread posts left when I get to the bottom of a page. I'd always wonder how many were on the next page when I was going to click into it.

The mobile version is awesome. Major upgrade and it's amazing how much better it is. The PC version is better too. Huge fan of everything that has been done.
You guys referring to SoSH app or Tapatalk? I know it's a work in progress but Tapa was giving me problems. There were issues w embedded video and my loaded avatar didnt actually display. Just curious.

Edit: well the SoSH app is working great. So there we go.

Personally I think the new mobile skin is better than the apps now.

I love that I can see page numbers under each thread title, very helpful. Very much appreciate all the work. We should send cookies in appreciation. Or bourbon. Maybe a kitten.

Huh. I can't get the Sosh app to do anything now. Whatever I click on, I get the response, "The requested forum could not be found." So I switched
over to Tapatalk, assuming that's what I had to do now. That's okay, but I'm puzzled about what's going on.

I am continuing to love the assignments of avatars. Also still love that tapatalk works great on my phone.

I have both the SoSH app and Tapatalk. Use mainly the app, have Tapatalk for some other boards, but included SoSH there as well. I keep getting popup notifications from Tapatalk (and an email sent to me) that someone quoted me. The problem is I get those messages when someone else has been quoted! I think it's always the same user, but it ain't me. It's often in threads I didn't post on at all. Anyone else getting this? Only started happening after the upgrade and I know Nip says he hasn't updated Tapatalk but is it possible some crossreference table or something has been mixed up?

From your account, check out "Watched Threads", "Watched Forums", and "People You Follow" to see if there's anything related. Poke around in "Alert Preferences" for finer-grained control

Thanks. Tried all of that. Have no watched threads, forums or people I'm following. Alert preferences seem normal. Also noticed that my "feed" in Tapatalk shows all the posts for this other user that I keep getting notifications about.
On a positive note, I did get a notification that you quoted me, so that part is working.

This was happening to me so I deleted and reinstalled the app. Works fine now.

ETA: I thought for sure I was going to get a Godfather avatar...

Tapatalk is an asshole about alerts. I am on their beta train and it literally changes daily. They are definitely actively tinkering with that aspect of it.

The "Recent Threads" box--clicking on a thread in there--it takes you to the opening post.

When on the main page, clicking on a thread doesn't go to last unread, it goes to last post.

Is there a way in my settings to make that go to the first unread post?

There's no per-user configuration. There are three different things:

If you're in a forum page (example) or on the "New Posts" or "Recent Posts" pages*, clicking a thread title--which will be over to the left--takes you to the last unread post in that thread:
recent.png

The "Latest" link on a list of forums (e.g. the front page)--which is over to the right--takes you to the latest post in that forum:
latest.png

The "Recent Threads" lists the most recently started threads (not the most recently posted in ones), and takes you to the thread start:
threads.png

*"New posts" shows only threads with unread posts. "Recent posts" shows all threads in order of the most recent post, whether or not there are unread posts--threads with unread posts are bolded.

This picture of old Krabappel and old Hoover that somehow just became my avatar. Did I miss something? Is this random or did someone handpick it for me?

Edit: Now I see that avatars were handed out. I'm still curious how I got this one specifically, and what episode it's from. I like it, though.

I re-downloaded the SoSH app when Tapatalk was giving me the problems. Works fine for me. Maybe uninstall and reinstall?

Tapatalk, after the update, was having these weird messages of 'unsupported video,' but otherwise it worked well. Maybe you aren't having those messages.

I tried the mobile skin, I like it, but the app is just so simple as I can easily open it on the fly and go back to where I was reading. The internet site is nice but usually gets jumbled with other sites or stuff Im googling.

Vanity guy checking in here.
On the old site, the bullet for a thread changed to a star if you had posted in the thread. I was proud of my tiny (and few) contributions and paused every so slightly upon scanning threads when I was 'my' star.

Dude, I'm sporting wood now that a tiny avatar shows up overlaid on the thread-started avatar in the thread list. Gonna go show my kids and grandkids now.

I like that with this new board, those on your ignore list are totally erased from the forum. Their posts aren't minimized to a sliver with a notation that "Poster X is on your ignore list" and an option to view the post anyway. They're absolutely gone without a trace. Took me a few moments reading the Ortiz/HOF thread this morning that Papelbon's Poutine was actually arguing with someone I've pinked and not making some deranged strawman argument with himself.

This may have been on the previous board, but if you highlight only part of a person's post, you can click "quote" or "reply" on that section and it will be the only part of the post you quote.
That's pretty awesome and glad I just found it.

If someone else quotes them as well, the replies don't even show up. They're completely gone.
