Marvin Hagler passed away at 66. Was probably neck and neck between him and Larry Bird as my favorite athletes of the 80’s. His fights were appointment viewing. From the battles with Antuofermo, to his dismantling of Allan Minter in Wembley, to the epic brawl with Hearns , to the (IMO) BS loss to Leonard. A real case can be made for him being the greatest middleweight of all time. RIP.

Aw, that's awful. I always tell people I grew up as a five sport fan - Sox, Bs, Cs, Pats and Hagler. He was to me what Joe Louis was to my dad. RIP, Marvelous Marvin. You're already missed.

Yeah I had roman winning but man. Hat's the fuck off to both guys, especially roman at the end of his career being in this type of war.

RIP to Marvin. Too young to go.
It was an awesome fight. 117-111 to Estrada is criminal. i had it 116-112 for Roman, but I could see it 114-114 or if I squint real heard 115-113 for estrada. I don't see any scenario where he won 9 rounds.

Oh stop. Boxing has always had freak show exhibitions. Look at Primo Carnera in the 30s. This gets more eyes on the sport and validates its worth as a 40 year old dude fights a guy in his early 20’s who is naturally about 70 pounds heavier than him and inevitably whips him.

Potential for a great fight tonight between Canelo and Billy J. If the latter has been training hard and plans to come in shape, he’s as slick as they come. Tricky to come at the king though with only 4 fights in the three years since he put on a clinic against Lemieux.

King? Lmao. I expect another garbage ass fight. Canelo has been fighting pure garbage opponents for years, BJS clown ass and his suspect chin shouldnt be much different

BJS looks like he’s in good shape. As does my dude Uno’s Canelo hate. Agreed he’s fought nobodies lately (would love to see him against Boo Boo), but the dude has been fighting at the top for a long time now. Who’s he really ducking?

It's a complete fucking joke he hasnt fought Charlo. Complete.

You say ducking, i say look at his boxrec. Pure trash or old near retired guys for the last 6-7 years. Fight an athlete. At least.

This ring is massive.

I mean, the Charlos are massively bigger than him. Believe the big ring was BJS’s demand.

Man, Canelo treating Saunders like a heavy bag. Just setting his feet and throwing big, accurate shots.

Another absolute joke of a fight and opponent for this fraud. So happy the world responded and cancelled his phony paydays from his original dazn contract.

Fuck off, Canelo.

I dont what to tell you, man. Bjs has been a joke for years and you follow the sport and know this.

Also, we arent talking about "good", people are praising canelo and have him p4p 1. It's nonsense. I'll lay it out, front and center. Will he fight an actual athletic BLACK fighter in his prime? Hell fucking no. It's all fraudulent.

We dont even need to go round and round. The people and his own promoter spoke and called him on his fraud which is why his contract got canceled. He refused to have anything but joke fights that people had no interest in. Dazn themselves refused to pay him for his garbage showcase fights at his original rate.

The fact that he's billed as great is why boxing is dead and a YouTuber can do better numbers than 99% of the sport.

I'm not gonna pretend like I know one one-hundredth of what you know about boxing. Sure - the sport has always had "freak show exhibitions." But boxing also isn't exactly where it used to be in the public consciousness.

Obviously the sport isn't dead. But shit like this is just embarrassing - and it's as much Mayweather's fault as it is Paul's.

Scotland has an undisputed World Champ, Josh Taylor, goan yersel big man. Went away to Vegas and came back wi aw the belts
I just happened to glance at the back page of this week's East Lothian Courier and discovered that Taylor was born in Prestonpans and lives now in Haddington, which is basically one town closer to Edinburgh from where I live in Dunbar. (My son is in Haddington right now, playing as the goalkeeper for Haddington FC 2007s, for example.) So that's pretty awesome.

Yeah, he's a big Hibs fan too. Shame not a single UK broadcaster wanted to show the fight. It was a really good, high quality fight. He was already 9th in Ring Magazine's P4P rankings prior to this bout.

Mayweather / Jake Paul tonight. No official winner announced but ref can stop fight. Possible Logan Paul sequel on deck

Mayweather odds can be found as high as -560 / -700, which IMO largely indicates how little sharps trust the integrity of this fight.

Who you got @Marciano490?

You have the brothers mixed up I think. Logan is tonight, right?

Logan is in good shape. He must have had an adrenaline dump and still didn’t collapse. Floyd was putting some heat on some of those shots.

Yeah, can you imagine people paid for that? I'm pissed I watched it for free.

No action on the fight since it went the distance, so millions of dollars being returned to bettors. What a waste.
