Watching this helps you appreciate how Floyd is in a league of his own as a technician. He made it look so easy against Manny.

Per ESPN's Andres Ferrari: "I'm with trainer Freddie Roach. Manny Pacquiao has a few more fights in him. No residues from his loss to Floyd Mayweather almost a year ago."

Both guys fought a good fight. Bradley, however, had a strange plan of attack. He continuously put himself in good positions but did nothing with them. Either way Manny beats Bradley 100 out of 100 times so this was another HBO tax on real boxing fans who paid for this predictable fight.

The HBO crew's hard troll worked. I watched the fight with a few Manny fanboys and they ate that shit up. They're all in for Manny Floyd 2 because this time "it'll be different".

Shit, I am a certified Manny Fanboy and I don't think a single thing will change in MF2. Manny's reflexes has gone down too much to do much damage, no matter how good he looked vs. Bradley. I say it was a 4:6 shot even in Pacman's absolute prime.

Turning to upcoming fights, the only question is what round will GGG finish the absolute trash of an opponent (not him personally) in Monroe. Same with Canelo and Khan.

After these puffball matchups, Canelo should drop the "offer" to fight at a catch weight and sign the GGG mega deal at the designated middleweight.

On the undercard, I'm psyched to watch Chocolatito fight again. Almost wish he was born a little earlier, so he could go against Wonjongkam.

P.S. GGG is 1/4 or 1/2 Korean, depending on who you talk to. So I'm more than biased.

Oh and on 6/11, Hi-Tech is on again, this time moving up to Super Featherweight. I'm fully expecting him to take the WBO belt from the current champ, Roman Gonzalez.

Down goes Wade at the end of round 1. What a mismatch.

Edit: At least the Choco fight was fun to watch as hell for 12 rounds, although the outcome was never in doubt.

And Ward gets destroyed in round 2. Ward not only had no technique to fight against GGG, but he didn't have the footwork, chin, nor guts (both figuratively and literally).

Although right hooks finished Ward off, the perfectly placed body shots really took the blunt out of his hear.

Oh and GGG did that soul-sapping thing where he "lets" himself get punched in the face and just lets out a little smile. You can just hear Ward going "oh shit".

Box Nation had this to say after the bout:

"Hagler had the same number of years -- 6 and counting -- as GGG when he held the world's championship belts. In those years, no other man held any other title in the same division.

During GGG's reign on the other hand, 18 different men held one title or another. GGG only got to fight 2 of them. It's time for boxing fans, boxing commentators, and boxing as a sport to get our collective [asses] out of our butts and change how this sport works... change this mandatory fights when the other boxer couldn't lace up the boots of the champion."

LOL and GGG says "I'm ready" when Max asks him about a possible bout with Canelo. Crowd goes wild, of course.

I've got first 3 rounds for Khan so far (definitely 1st and 3rd). Khan took a solid punch on the chin in the 2nd but wore it well.

Alvarez is missing by huge margins on his big punches - Khan's hand speed very impressive so far

Khan's left eye cut after Alvarez lands some stinging jabs in the 5th. First round for Alvarez and he can smell blood here now

Dear God, Khan is knocked COLD by a right lead. Alvarez showing a lot of class, knelt down to check on Khan and kept his celebrations very muted.

Marciano you fucking boxing genius

Round 7? Screw you buddy.
$$

Canelo was his typical self. Unfortunately, Khan with another one of his signature sprawl. I can't remember another recent top fighter with so many spectacular KO losses.

I like Hopkin's solution on the weight differences: http://boxingjunkie.usatoday.com/2016/05/06/bernard-hopkins-has-a-solution-to-canelo-triple-g-weight-differences/
Hopkins says he does have a solution, one that’s been done before in boxing. Both fighters should enter into a contract in the middle of both weight classes (Canelo, 155 pounds, Golovkin 160), and have a cutoff of how much they can rehydrate up.
Box Nation says WBC told Canelo's and GGG's camps they have 30 days to negotiate an agreement. Otherwise, it goes to open purse and if Canelo doesn't answer the mandatory fight he'll be stripped of his belt.

Khan had as good a start as he could hope for but after the third round you could see Canelo figured his speed out. I give him credit for his patience, he didn't rush it.

I hope we see GGG Canelo in the fall. Unfortunately, I think we get Canelo Cotto 2.

I fear GGG ends up fighting Billy Jo or someone else for a vacated belt. Oscar is dead set on making Canelo the Mexican PPV mayweather

Not sure the GGG fight happens straight away. One probably has to lose first and be desperate enough to make the fight to get back on top that they make the concessions the other wants.

GGG is probably too strong for Canelo, but it'd be slugfest.

A fight I was mildly excited for (I'm a Wilder fan, not completely sold but I like him), Wilder Povetkin, is off. Povetkin tested positive for meldonium (same stuff sharipova got popped for) at the last test.

Sucks for Wilder, he had a 4.5 million dollar payday coming his way.

I'd like to see him against Fury. Wouldn't be much art to it, but somebody would get knocked out hard.

Joshua looks undersized for me, albeit with a nice punch. But that dude he won the belt from - blanking now - put up a terrible performance. Not sold on him yet. Would love for him to take off, though. Helluva nice kid and good ambassador for the sport.

So today Canelo vacated the WBC title and GGG was named the champ pretty much the next second. So much for all the tough talk

That was Golden Boy's statement and also a reasonable assumption.... but this is boxing and I can't take anything at face value. The sport forces fans to be pessimistic.

Oscar just made a ton of money by having Canelo in a mismatch, why not keep it rolling? Vacating the belt would be the first step in that.

Muhammad Ali has passed away. A true champion in every sense of the word. May he rest in peace.

When you look up "larger than life" in the dictionary, you get Ali's picture. It wasn't just that he was both (at least early) supernaturally skilled and incredibly tough, it was the way he encompassed everything in boxing within his personal aura, and shaped perceptions on much larger issues around the world. Great boxer, great man, great loss.
