Also, this wouldn't apply to established viewers, but are you looking for a way to be interested in the EPL? Pick a few guys in this game and root for them at the weekend. Good way to interest newbies and you'll learn a lot more about the Leicesters and QPRs of the world that way.

There's nothing like fantasy for making that Hull v. Burnley fixture not only endurable, but engrossing.

In again as Spartan FC. Looking to climb into top half of the table this year. You'd think I'd be able to do that with all the time i put into it.

It may have been overlooked at the bottom of last page, but what's the consensus on non-SoSHers? I've had a few friends that have participated once or twice in the past.

My initial thought is that to hold off on non-Soshers for the time being until we get an idea of how big the league is. We might get 50 Soshers in the league, that's likely plenty big enough. Right now we have 36 teams.

But I'm hardly wedded to this idea, so if folks have strong feelings about this and really want to open the league to their friends who would actively participate then I can certainly be swayed.

No strong feelings. It's been a few years for them, and I think that was because we weren't sure how many would participate. If we get 40-50 then that's cool with me.

Dominated my tiny, know-nothing office league last season, so I'm pretty awesome at this game (SSS).

I've found some players I want to get to my squad who are not listed on the website...is it just a matter of the site getting them into the database, or will they not be available until after week 1 starts?

There should be quite a few updates to the database before the season starts, so you should be ok. The only difficulty will come when the season starts and the transfer window still has a couple of weeks to run (which is ridiculous imo). Then all the squads are set into place until the merry-go-round starts all again in January.

are they new transfers? It takes a bit of time between a deal being announced and it actually getting through the league, then a bit more time before the player hits the game. They should be there by week 1 if they already signed.

We're up to 44 teams entered now. I'll guess that's likely all the SoSHers we'll get for the league. If people have a small number of friends looking for a league, I'd say they're welcome to join. But I do reserve the right to shut it off at some point.

Seems they are updating things quite quickly, Calum Chambers is already listed on the Arsenal squad. I'm surprised they've managed to find enough Southampton players to fill their squad, they must really be reading up on their reserve teams.

Awesome.

I've just set up this year's SoSH league. League ID 4675-2028.

For newbies, you can just auto-choose your team to get into the game, and then join the league. You can then make as many changes to your squad as you like before the season begins. Let me know if anyone has problems joining the league.

I'm in as Norfolk-in-Chance.

Got a team "the Cow's wrong" where do i sign up for the league....make it idiot proof.

Up to 50 players now, which is a great effort with still two weeks to go to kick-off.

Don't forget there's a head-to-head league available as well at 19061-7259

I'm in again as FC Donkey. Haven't registered yet but I will before the season starts. Someone needs to provide reliable bottom half of the table filler, and I'm just the guy to do it.

I will of course be defending my title.  We realize it's a very competitive league and will be strengthening this summer, I've spoken to the Chairman and have been promised funds will be made available to buy 15 new players.

Current name is Argentina Hotspur but I'm trying to come up with a better name.
Name changed to Rebecca Luweh's Hair.

I had no idea you can play different formations. It'll probably just give me something else to fuck up, but that's pretty cool.

Not that many of you will be up and reading this at this time of the day, but you've only got 3 1/2 hours left to finalise your squads before they're locked into the system.

Opening day is here, good luck everyone.

Alright, it's been a few weeks, get in there and make some changes. If you need to make a lot, use the Wild Card, which, for one week gives you unlimited transfers.

Hello Diego Costa, goodbye Olivier Giroud.

I went Sigurdsson for Young and Dier for Smalling so far. Freed up some space with that second move, so I can look at another striker to replace Giroud next week without taking the four point drop.
