Well, they should be the Expos by now. Absolutely ridiculous that they are still in Tampa. Terrible stadium, no fans, and no money no matter how much they win. The state of the Expos at the end was pretty bad, sure, but that was because their last owner was one of the worst ever in all of professional sports. A team up there with an owner at least half bright and they would thrive. Even if they had to play in the dreaded Olympic Stadium or some other shithole for a few years until a new park for them was ready. Maybe move them to the NL East to spread out the Canadian fan base and bring, I don't know, the Marlins into the AL in exchange.

But whatever. Just beat these clowns again.

Many many posts have pointed out that the Sox are in grave danger of falling distantly,hopelessly, and irrevocably behind the Clevelan’dians for the the third WC spot! Only 13 games left to avoid being sellers.

Yesterday was a good start and I don’t want to trade Devers, so, win.

I thought it was called "Champa", like it said on the hat some ballbag was wearing while attending game 6 of the SC finals that he got for free with a fill up at Sheetz....................along with two hot dogs, a slushie and the shits.

I kinda wished MA had Sheetz. But Wawa or even Rutter’s would be better.

When they move to Montreal, there's no fucking way you move them out of the AL East. That's the dumbest thing I've read all weak, and I read an article that quoted Gutfeld.

They're going to want both American and National league influence in Canada. Two teams in the same league and division doesn't get them that. I think someone will move.

It would also make it a little easier on intra-divisional road trips. If I was playing pro baseball in Montreal though, I'd likely want a retractable dome. Games in early April could easily be under 30*, snowy.... as well as potential post September games.
But it'd be harder to hate them up there.... Montreal is easily my favorite North American city.

The point is that there are many thousands of Red Sox and Yankees fans that would attend games in Montreal because it's closer to their home, less expensive, and a fun family road trip.

The amount of Phillies and Mets fans to which that applies is 7.

Why do you think that the economic benefit of travel willingness of road fans would trump the much more massive economic benefit of Canadian representation in both leagues?
Not to mention, AL East teams other than Toronto might prefer not to double the amount of travel outside of the country they'd need to organize that two Canadian teams brings.

If the new schedule starting in 2022 (home and home in alternating years with every team in the other league save for your so-called arch rival; less inter divisional games) becomes a keeper, does that lessen or increase the chances that a Montreal team would be in the NL? For example, Montreal in the AL the Sox would travel there twice and twice to Toronto; so 4 trips instead of the current 3. Montreal in the NL they'd go there every other year.

It'd be far more of a benefit than who sits in their stands for less than a quarter of their home games.
If 'how are we going to attract Yankees/ Red Sox fans' is really something that a potential top ten market in North America would be spending a great deal of time thinking about then they'd be doomed before they start.
