After Tampa beat the Bruins there was no one left in the bubble that really had a chance.

Hedman has to win the Conn Smythe. He dominated.

Hard not to think Tampa wins another now that this core broke through.

Fuck I wish the Bruins had pulled it off last year.

For once I have to thank the NHL. They actually pulled this off — with no one getting sick -- and gave us some great hockey during a difficult time.

When do training camps open?

This really can’t be said enough. In April I didn’t think there was any way that they’d be able to give the cup out this year. Tremendous work by all involved.

This was their last best shot. The salary cap is going to rip that roster apart in the next two years.
Hedman, McDonagh and Coburn are the only D men signed for next season. Rutta, Shattenkirk, Bogisian and Schenn all UFAs. Cernak and Sergachev are RFAs.

Cedric Paquette winning the Cup makes me physically ill. Truly the '18-'19 Blues of the East, but somehow whinier.

At the end of the day it's still nice to have a league (warts and all) where the best team isn't determined solely due to which city has the best nightlife, the best media opportunities or which star can tamper and wreck other teams to put his buddies on the roster.
