They probably have good ice-ologists in these 2 places, at least in June. When I think of ice hockey, first places to come to mind are Vegas and South Florida.

Overnight LOWS for Saturday:
Las Vegas 69
Sunrise 72

This would be a fascinating matchup to me if it weren't for the whole "I am still pissed off about the Bruins" aspect of it all.

I live in TB and the Bolts have consistently better ice than the Bruins come April-May. It's all about facilities and keeping humidity low inside (from what I understand).

This is a sneaky good goalie matchup. Bob has been far and away the best goalie by goals saved above average in the playoffs, and only Jack Campbell had a higher GSAE/60 in extremely limited play behind Skinner. Adin Hill, OTOH, has probably been the third best goalie since taking over from a very meh Brossoit in the second round vs. Edmonton, putting up 6.4 GSAE in his 11 games, putting his rate stat in a tier with Sorokin and Shesterkin.

This isn’t a comparison of the teams themselves, but the general stories of these two teams reminds me a little of the 2019 Final. From the East, a team that had to claw their way through a tough first round match-up, building momentum through an increasingly dominant next two rounds behind an amazing goalie and unrelenting attack, who rode that momentum straight into a nearly two-week break. From the West, a team survives a slightly tougher road (by games played per series), getting an unexpected boost with goaltending from an unlikely source.

At least I’m sure the Panthers are smart enough not to host a full-contact scrimmage for fans where Verhaeghe breaks his hand. Yes, I’m still bitter.

Makes sense.
Both Vegas and Florida have more experience with the high outside temps. Boston only has to deal with it in the playoffs when the outside temps fluctuate wildly, which logically is harder to manage than consistent warmer temps.
Makes me think about being in the office in the spring and fall. The hvac system can't keep up with the fluctuations and it takes forever to cool off/heat up the building.

It slipped my mind about the 2017 expansion draft steal where Vegas agreed to draft Jonathan Marchessault instead of Florida defensemen Mark Pysyk or Alex Petrovic, and in agreeing to do so Florida also traded Reilly Smith to Vegas for a 4th round pick.
6 years later and it's still paying dividends for Vegas.

Can't say I like either team, but it would be cool to see Marchessault pot the OT winner in a Game 7

I just kind of realized I don’t care about this series, at least until the clinching game/handshakes

Has the worm turned? at last?
9 days off might’ve killed their momentum.

I mean, I thought Florida was the better team for two periods. Great push by Vegas in the third…I wasn’t paying enough attention to see what adjustments they made but they had all the pressure. Still a game that could have gone either way. Hoping for a great series.

I can't fathom what Maurice could be complaining about on that penalty call. Second man in on a guy well after puck is gone and hitting him in the back of the head is pretty darn automatic.

BTW, we’re in uncharted territory after tonight one way or the other. Either Vegas has two wins in the Final for the first time ever, or Florida gets a win in the Final for the first time ever.

As much as I hate Tkachuk, that was a pretty clean hit...just very unfortunate that Eichel toe-picked and fell lower, into it.

Edit - Unless there's a rule about not hitting someone who doesn't see you. All that said, I'm glad he got 2/10 for being a complete DB in the after scrum.

I get it was a nice read, push, and glove...but it was going wide. Let's not go too crazy here.

I’m now officially on team Vegas. The Panthers are a bunch of undisciplined thugs in this game and series. Tkachuk in the box for 25% of the first two games sure is helping his team.
