I read OpenSnow daily, been a subscriber since it was Colorado Powder Forecast. My observation is they do a pretty good job highlighting their sponsorships/partners so may be worth checking out.

Interested to hear what you're working on!

@uncannymanny - what are some of those areas you skied? Looks like a good spread.
Some friends and I have been doing a Banff trip in December the last few years, so did Sunshine and Louise. Same crew does Whistler in March.

My (major) home mountain is Mt Bachelor and I’ve done a weekend so far. I have an Ikon this year with plans to mostly travel out of state, so I’ll do the 6 more days I have there (got a free day pass for a lift breakdown).

We just did 7/9 days at Park City, Snowbird, Snowbasin, Jackson Hole, AJAX and Snowmass. It was amazing. From Bachelor the weekend before through JH it was pretty much all powder.

My goal for this year is 50 days. I bought a 3-pack for Timberline on Black Friday that I haven’t used yet and I’ll ski the two smaller mountains closer to me a bunch (Willamette Pass is about an hour, Hoodoo is about 2 hours). Have eyes on doing at least 3 of Alyeska, Big Sky, Sun Valley, Tahoe and Mammoth. SLC is a pretty cheap place to get to and lodge so I’d love to get back there again, too.

It’s a way out of the norm plan, but unlike your daughter I didn’t get to start until I was 13 and couldn’t afford my own gear until my early 30s. This is my make up year!

Great call, I love OpenSnow and will definitely add them to the list! I wonder if some other apps (e.g., Ski Trax) host advertising and are worth considering.

SkiEssentials and Blister are well trafficked review sites. Teton Gravity? Newschoolers for the kids. Can probably think of a lot more later.

I asked my son about what he follows. For context he's 20 and is vice president of freestyle for his school's ski club, which has some 600 members.

He says he follows basically every ski brand and a lot of undergound skiers. He mostly watches youtube videos - line travling circus, slVsh, armada backountry project, faction project, some european groups like "forre and 888anam as well as the bunch". He says the two planks pod is decent. And of course, newschoolers (which was previously mentioned).

I look forward to hearing about your venture.

Gee, ya think it was a slow start to the season? It's been crickets in here since December! I had 2 trips planned for the season, but I just cancelled the family trip to Copper Mountain in Colorado because Mrs. Zoso booked a girls trip that weekend. So for now, the only thing I have on the books is a trip to Steamboat next month for Winter Wondergrass. Since we cancelled Copper and we're looking to save some money, I'm also considering a family trip to one of the hills in North Carolina/West Virginia. I've heard good things about Snowshoe, WV, and Sugar and Beech in NC. One issue I need to figure out is if anyone offers lessons (even if private) for my 3 year old. My 5 year old should do really well on these less intimidating slopes. We'd be going in March, so I know conditions will be a toss up. We're coming from Tampa so we still need to figure out whether to drive or fly. Flying would take away some of the economic incentive, but even NC is about 12 hours, so Snowshoe would be ~17 from what I understand.

How's everyone else's season going? Any trips coming up?
I think it’s crickets in here because this is the 22-23 ski season thread. We’ve all been posting in the 23-24 ski season thread. I posted some pics from Korea and Japan.

As far as Snowshoe, I’ve been several times. I enjoy it but 17 hours is a long drive.

If you have the Ikon pass, and travel to Canada for skiing, you MUST go to Red Mountain some year. That's the best gladed big mountain terrain I've ever skied. While you're in the area, you can try Whitewater near Nelson, which comes in at 1A.

Added to the list. I think one of the guys that works for me recommended this after going last year. Thats where Kicking Horse is, yeah?

@petefungtorres: FWIW, Instagram starts shoveling ski content at me in November and doesn’t let up until May. Reputable brands advertise heavily and I think that helps legitimize the smaller advertisers. Bonus that shopping from or even within the app is pretty seamless. It probably skews older (middle age) in general, but in that space I know there’s a big age spread on the platform.
