per a GSW beat writer.  Kerr had two back surgeries in the offseason and is rehabbing.

Luke Walton is the interim head coach and there's no date for Kerr's return.

Ugh. Get well, Steve! Back injuries are no fun at all. Especially annoying with Alvin Gentry moved onto New Orleans, but I trust in Ron Adams, Luke Walton, Jarron Collins, Bruce Fraser ... and Steve Nash.

From a rookie coach who had never coached basketball at any level? That'll do Steve, that'll do. Now get well!

Now is the right time for this, Coach Kerr.

"We'll keep this ship moving in the right direction until our captain can return," Walton said at practice Thursday.
