Need I post the declines in Brady's numbers since 2011?

Beyond that, do you really need quant data to backup what the results have told you?

Oakland sucks, we needed a bullshit holding call to beat them, and Miami (who beat us soundly earlier) took them behind the woodshed in London.

The Vikings, sans AP, are a joke.

They edged out two bad opponents, got beat by a middle of the road team in miami, and got trounced by another middle of the road team in KC.

The Bengals are undefeated and have one of the best defenses in the NFL.

I love the Patriots as much as anyone, I've been to games at various points in my life since 1995 (I was 14), but the reality is, this team is not that good.
Now that this thread is bumped, it provides for some entertaining reading pre-Cincy.

I don't know which of these posts is more amusing in retrospect:

NO is a good comp [to the Pats].  Both teams are about in the same spot.  I feel NO is more likely to improve.

i will give 3 quick  ways this year could happen

Best Case 10-6  win wild card  Lose to ciny or den  in div round

Middle   9-7  lose wild card to balt

Ugly  8-8  lose tiebreaker to mia  miss playoffs

All the Bengals need do is play an average game and protect the football and they beat us. The talent disparity is that wide.

Huge talent disparity!  New Orleans is better than us!  Best case scenario, 10-6 and a wild card!

If this were RMPS, they'd have some pretty strong language to describe the hysteria.

I think it's funny that j-man's three scenarios leave leave a whopping 2 game difference between "best case" and "ugly."

"Best case, NE is mediocre.  Worst case, NE is...mediocre."

I laughed at my Saints quote.  Sort of object to it getting lumped in with some of the other stuff in this thread, especially in the context of all my posts in this thread, but cool.

No cutting corners with nolo contendere -- instead, guilty as charged.

It has been an exceptional coaching job all around (no whisper of Dante anymore).  Also, and a bit beneath the radar -- in-season additions have helped and could prove the difference by Feb.

Browner also came back from suspension, thus creating matchup nightmares for opposing offenses.
There were plenty of people who thought he was getting cut before playing his first game.

Browner looked terrible in his limited Preseason snaps. While i didnt think he would be cut, I did privately wonder if he was cooked. (Seattle release.....SSS Preseason....etc etc)

Of course if we looked at the first series of the Regular season games Revis and Browner have played together they have seemed "bad" (comparatively......if my memory serves).

Anyone have the "1st Series" stats for the defense (specifically Revis and Browner)?

I chocked it up to "figuring out" what the other team was doing and "adjusting".
