I didn't see a game thread for summer league, so I thought it might be useful to have one.

Schedule:

Vs. Heat, Sat. July 8, 3 p.m.
Vs. Wizards, Sunday July 9, 7:30 p.m.
Vs. Lakers, Wed. July 12, 10 p.m.
Vs. Knicks, Fri. July 14, 7 p.m.

Looking forward to seeing Walsh and an improved Davison!

Walsh's form looked good on his first 3-pointer.

Damn, Walsh looks good. 4 for 4 from the field, 3 three-pointers. He looks a bit gangly and awkward, and overeager on those two fouls, but the shooting ... nice so far.

Not too impressed with Davison so far. He seems a bit slower ... maybe a little too full-figured, coming into this season.

That's a bummer. Dude might have cost himself a real chance if he can't even keep up with conditioning as an end of the bench role.

Yeah, there was a comment in another thread about him, with his shirt off, looking a bit pudgy. If he's going to take full advantage of his athleticism, he needs to control his weight.

Not sure it is conditioning but he just looks too slow. Which is a really bad sign in a summer league game. His game doesn’t really fit SL though he’s mostly getting the ball up and distributing

Ha! Exercising a challenge in summer league ... and I was just about to post about how I liked the much faster pace compared to the NBA games.

Damn, looks like Miami just shoots 50% from three against the Celtics, whether it's regular season or summer league.

At the half, Walsh is looking good. He can't fight through screens well yet, and he seems to like swiping at the ball a bit too much when someone drives past, instead of repositioning, but I'm excited to see what he looks like when he fills out. He looks like a skinny strong guy. Can't complain about his shooting either.

Davison is kind of meh, though he does have 7 assists. He also has 4 turnovers.

I only caught part of the 1st half but Davison was folding under token halfcourt pressure by god knows who, which sucks. A backcourt violation then the Heat stole the ball from him.

Davison playing better this half, while Walsh a bit worse, showing his age with some of those turnovers.

Can't figure out what they see in Champagnie. Give Scrubb his spot. Big stiff from Poland was unimpressive. Davison started turning things around in the second half (as did Azubuike).

Walsh definitely looks intriguing. Moves his feet well side to side; I hadn't realized how thin he was (he looks almost like a spider on defense). His shooting was more than adequate, and even the misses were close. He did look like a 19-year-old on those turnovers though.

To me, Davison’s problems weren’t athletic as much as he couldn’t and then for a long stretch of the game wouldn’t shoot. He turned down a bunch of shots off the high pick and roll early in the shotclock only to end up with worse ones later as the time wound down. At his size, he’s going to need to be able to shoot consistently from distance to keep defenses honest on his downhill drives, floaters, and lobs.

Yam might be more likely to log point guard minutes for the C's than Davison.

I wish we could've seen Yam this year in summer league, and Begarin too. It sounds like Yam has really improved his game.

Windhorst was right about Wemby. He can be invisible for a stretch and then suddenly does 5 incredible things in a minute.

Almost a poster from JDD who got hacked.
Yeah, talk about "letting them play." That was about as obvious a foul as they come.

I'm worried Davison doesn't have enough of a shot to make it in the NBA. I haven't looked at his G League stats recently, but he's not shooting well in Summer League.

Davison has been a turnover machine. He looks a long way from being a serviceable point guard.

Anyone else notice the glitch in the matrix when the Dallas-Indiana game comes up on the NBATV scroll? The two Indiana players highlighted are A.Boston and N.Smith

I came to this one late, but looks like a lot of meh so far. Doesn't look like the Celtics have a lot of shooting. Davison continues to disappoint on that front: 1 for 4. Scrubb increasingly looks like a two-way.

Champagnie has a little success, and immediately turns into a chucker. Will be glad to see him go.

After watching Davison and Banton, I'm a fan of keeping Pritchard around ...

Of all the summer league losses in the world, that was the Charlie Browniest.

Hmm, looks like there was a bunch of "consolation" games. Jordan Walsh's line looked good again, with 2-3 from three. It'll be interesting to see him against NBA talent. Plus, he's not even 19 1/2 years old yet.
