Same here. They showed examples of pictures taken in bad lighting, which looked bad, and then pictures taken in good lighting, which looked good. Golly.
It is a thing, though. Has been a problem for decades. Especially with film. Eastman stock was always balanced for fair skin. If you were shooting something with a lot of BIPOC subjects then you'd use Fuji stock because it worked better with non-white skin tones.
Though why that held true through into digital you got me.
