I don't understand why they make conference championship gear. Either they win the Super Bowl and no one wants it, or they lose the Super Bowl and no one wants it.

There must be some logic to it, but I can't find any.

If they didn't make money doing it then they wouldn't do it. I think it's that simple.

They probably make more money from teams that don't go to the Super Bowl ALL the time.  I know I loved the HELL out of this hat:

Still looks cool today, I think.

Ya, that's exactly it.  We're completely spoiled here, but for some teams that's the high point.  Think of Carolina, for example.  Especially if you go into the game as a huge underdog and aren't expected to win, there's no shame there.  That '01 AFC Championship gear would be cool if the Patriots had put up a good fight but couldn't pull off the Rams upset.

Of course, when losing the Super Bowl is considered a disappointing season, you tend not to celebrate the steps along the way.

Yeah, FWIW I wore the shit out of my '96 AFC Championsip hat.  I was 13-14 years old and had watched the Pats suck when I was 7-10 and then fell in love with them as Bledsoe and Parcells came along.  I remember thinking it was so cool to be in the Super Bowl (my parents always threw huge SB parties and it always seemed as a kid to be a HUGE event) that I was going to celebrate that team forever no matter what.  It was still a hat in my regular rotation through the 2001 season.

I got a 4x champ cap and a t-shirt. The shirt will not be worn but i'll wear the cap all the time. My Boston schwag championship drawer is huge now. Great problem to have.

What t-shirt originally goes for $210?!  Does Ed Hardy deliver it to your house?

So I'm pretty sure I've exhausted both the internet and this thread, but--has anyone seen a caricature Super Bowl Champs shirt? Want to get one for my brother but I haven't seen one anywhere (I know they haven't been doing them for MLB, so no guarantee it exists). If anyone sees it a heads up would be greatly appreciated.
In other words, something like this:
