Stoke signs Ibrahim Afellay and can now run out one of the stranger frontlines for a midtable side: Barca Reject - Crouchy - Barca Reject.

Raul Jimenez on loan from Athletico
And they supposedly made a £12m offer for Chicharito today.

There is so much smoke around this transfer, however, that there must be a little fire. I think we're clearly in for him and willing to spend the money. Benzema's place in the starting XI is also pretty clearly in question, with Perez and Benitez intent on playing Bale as a second striker and questions about whether you can really fit him, CR7, and Benzema into the team that way. Whether Madrid is willing to sell seems like the big issue and it probably hinges on whether or not they can bring in a new galactico or a few other good players. Especially after Barca winning the treble, there is no way that they just sell us Benzema without having some kind of new shiny toy to dangle in front of the supporters.
Could be. I wonder whether he is enough or whether they will also want to bring in a big time field player like Reus or Pogba.sachmoney said:

Sevilla, not Atletico. Great signing for Sevilla, I think.

Its the wages. Players will not leave unless offered top dollar. If im a team and i value a player at x dollars, then ideally transfer FEE + wages equals x. As wages go up, FEE Góes down.PedroSpecialK said:That, and Bayern for whatever reason don't seem to get great fees back for their players
Very talented but very raw 19-year-old striker from Monaco.Zomp said:Who, the fuck, is Anthony Martial.
PedroSpecialK said:Dante was originally purchased by Bayern for €4.5m IIRC - and hasn't been incredible by any means in the past couple of seasons. That, and Bayern for whatever reason don't seem to get great fees back for their players - €30m for Kroos notwithstanding (and even that's on the low side for me):
Mandžukić - €22m
Luis Gustavo - €16m
Podolski (in '09) - €10m
Schweinsteiger - €9m
Can - €5m
Hummels - €4.2m

So you might still be able to get some work done.
