I think they like the system fit and the fact that Texas is bringing in the top-rated OL class in country.
Does seem like a bit of an odd choice with Ewers just one real year ahead of him plus obviously that Texas just generally hasn't been a contender in a while. But I guess with the portal these days, it's easy enough to go somewhere else if you don't like how things are shaping up.

Had essentially an entire offensive line commit today. Big men.

I mean of all players for the NIL not to matter one bit about. Wanting to play for an NFL OC makes sense, but Manning is going to the place that he believe will give him the best preparation for NFL success.
Add a 4 star WR, Cook (who will be a 5 star after this season) and Texas now is 1 point out from the top rated recruiting class.

Tend to agree; but he probably did have a somewhat open mind (tilted to Ewers for upside).
I still think they go 7-5, won't be surprised if 6-6. If they win 5, shut it down.
