Oh, yeah. Another chance for an Atlanta team to break my heart. But still...let's talk about it here.
Which Braves? I would need a lot of convincing to root for either of these teams due to their fan bases, but Wilco fans intrigue me.The Braves are Wilco fans.
What is the significance and relevance of this? The Braves are Wilco fans.
I like to say Snitker.I like Dusty Baker. I like Brian Snitker.
The rest of the two franchises...meh.
I deleted this at first, but decided to leave it as an illustration of what happens when posts like this are made outside of V&N. Patience is entirely gone.Cheaters vs. racists. I think we all lose either way.
I always liked Avery. I saw him once at a toy store around Christmas sometime in the 90s. Seemed like a really good guy when all the fans came up to him in the store. Took the time to talk to all of them and sign whatever they had.I am optimistic on this Series because I think with the Braves inclusion, we'll get the best of Smoltzie. I long for the stories about Glavine and Maddux. And even Avery, who was an All-Star on my irrational love team, as was Ron Gant. Thought Avery would have had a better career. I really miss the mid-90's Braves.
Also miss Chipper, Klesko, Brian Jordan, and most of all, Andruw, from the 99 team. And even Gerald wasn't yet on the Red Sox/Pedro fandom hatelist. Cox and Mazzone were everyone's grandfathers too.
I enjoy reading your Diary of a Commentator thread and respect that you have been such a great sport on this board about 28-3. For those reasons, I am 100% on board the Atlanta bandwagon. Also, I hate that little bastid Altuve. Go Braves!but still...I can maybe find it in my heart to believe that good things can happen to one of my teams in Houston. (Even if, you know, one of my other teams once led a game 28-3 there.)
Thanks (on all counts)! FWIW, I was rooting for the Red Sox to beat the Astros, insofar as they are much more of my #2 team in baseball than the Celtics or Pats are in their respective sports (the Bruins are my #1 hockey team). But I'm not gonna lie...the thought of having to represent Atlanta here on SoSH in a Braves-Red Sox World Series did fill me with a certain amount of dread.I enjoy reading your Diary of a Commentator thread and respect that you have been such a great sport on this board about 28-3. Wow, that's a magnificent wordbreak at the end. Tobias Funke would be proud.

That would be one more than A-Rod. And two more than Gerrit Cole.If the Stros win, Marwin Gonzalez could get a ring, so there’s that.
Hand up and ListenYesterday's Slate's Shut Up and Listen podcast realized why no one should ever root for the Braves. It's a despicable organization.
Go Dusty Baker.
D’oh you’re right. It’s Hang Up … I’ve listened for YEARS and can’t be,Eve I got that wrong.Hand up and Listen
Searching for Shut and Listen took me to someone's else's podcast taking about not baseball (I only heard the first minute or so before I looked deeper and realized it probably wasn't the one I wanted)
I sort of hate "listening," and I looked for the transcript, which is looks as though you can access, but I couldn't.Hand up and Listen
