@ElUno20

Are you ok? Do i need to send medics to your house?

I'm just happy on a national stage they got to show their effort. It's been A+ all year with no quit.

It's a 5 games series still but they showed out. I hope Kawhi was watching.

Also this was what i was trying to say about the dubs earlier this season. Yeah the clipps play hard but you have to stomp out scrub ass teams like this. Especially at home. They lack a real fire this year.

what the heck? I stopped paying attention to this game at 99-74 and I learn they actually lost.

teams are taking round 1 way too lightly.

If we get past the Jazz, the second round will be really interesting. Capela could not live with Cousins in the last game and now he might not have to.

If Cousins is back by the next round, the Warriors should be investigated for BALCO 2.0 type stuff.

Trez is the newer, better version of Dray... all dog

I have to admit its fun watching him and Lou come off the bench in the 1st Quarter like NOW the game begins.

Clips 6-10 from three in the third, and 10-12 from two, for a total of 16-22 for 44 points.
Clips 3-6 from three in the fourth, and 10-15 from two, for a total of 13-21 for 41 points.

That is a second half shooting 29-41, 70.7%, with 20-27, 74% from two, and 9-16, 56% from three.

Rob Perez ("Wob") is doing his post-game Twitter broadcast and notes that KD got kicked by Gallinari and didn't look right after. Who knows but it might explain his muted impact in the second half, especially on defense. I know we like to hot take everything in sports but an injury, while less fun to make fun of, explains more about a player's poor performance than some basement dwelling Twitter slanderer questioning KD's mental toughness. And yes, this is happening on Twitter and not directed at anyone here.

I'm loving watching some of these second units inject energy and talent into their teams. Harrell and Lou in LA, Caris and Dinwiddie in Brooklyn, Rozier and Morris in Boston...…...

I don't know about all the specific potential matchups, but I think Looney and Bogut can cover whatever minutes GS needs from an actual 5. Bogut looked awesome today, punching the ball out to the perimeter on offense repeatedly like a prime Tyson Chandler, credited with 9 boards in his 17 minutes. He was in there 1 on 3 and still the first to the ball, such a smart player, hope he can stay healthy for two months.

I think Beverly played harder down 31 tonight than I’ve seen anyone play ever. I mean this game was over. 0% win probability and he was guarding KD like his life depended on it. And KD was just checked out.

Seriously though, Morris was a savior in game one coming off the bench with 12 points on only four shots in 6:20 in first quarter, jump starting a moribund offense that put up only six points in 5:40. And Rozier made one miracle buzzer beating three to end a quarter. Too bad that was his only made basket the entire game.

There's no reason why Morris and Hayward can't be impactful off the bench like Harrell and Williams and LeVert and Dinwiddie. If the Celtics are going to run deep, they will have to be.

Watching the Dubs-Clips replay now...man, the Warriors broadcast team is painful. Just non-stop whining about the officiating.

Rozier/Morris injecting energy/talent would be very helpful. A welcomed change from the 2nd half of the season.

They should be motivated since they are playing for their next contract.

FWIW, they both played with a lot more energy on D on Sunday. I’m not sure why Terry thought that playing to 50% of his defensive potential during the regular season was going to get him minutes or get him paid.

On the final Shamet three, I don't understand why Klay haphazardly decided to double-team Williams in the open court, leading to an easy pass to SGA, who had a wide open lane to the basket because Klay had left him, which forced Shamet's defender to rotate over, leading to a wide-open shot for Shamet. It couldn't have been made any easier for the Clippers to get a great look.

Why is Toronto/Orlando starting at 8:00 tonight and San Antonio/Denver at 9:00? Seems like avoidable overlap when they could start the first game at 7:00 or at least 7:30, especially with two eastern time zone teams. They can’t be that adverse to a 7:00 start time, Celtics/Pacers tomorrow is at 7:00.

This is actually a smart and fairly common defensive scheme to take the ball out of the scorers hands for the final shot forcing the Clippers into freelancing and definitely done by design. The other benefit aside from creating chaos is it doesn’t allow the offense to run the clock down to 6-7 seconds on the game clock. Credit to the two rookies for executing in a difficult spot that they aren’t accustomed to seeing.

There's a third game at 10:30 (OKC-POR), so it would be fully overlapping other action either way. Whenever they have a three game playoff slate on a weekday night, they do it this way, TNT does a doubleheader and the third game is on NBA-TV.

Torn quad confirmed
What contender will be bargain shopping with the MLE this summer and will be willing to deal with Cousins and his health and other issues? Or will someone be desperate enough to give him a multi year deal?

This guy has had two horrendous injuries on two ordinary plays that are made hundreds of times in a career.

The Warriors, almost certainly, since they have the advantage of being able to re-sign him for $6.4M (not far off the full MLE) while also getting a new taxpayer MLE to play with.

Just a brutal blow for DeMarcus and the Warriors, with the slight silver lining that it may significantly increase the chances of them sticking together next season. Get well soon, DeMarcus.

Meanwhile, a ton of added pressure just landed on the shoulders of Andrew Bogut and Kevon Looney, and the 2019 playoff plot thickens.

Setting the table for tonight.

Orlando and San Antonio face the same complacency obstacle as Brooklyn did last night as they already "did their job" of winning a game on the road. Then you have Toronto and Denver in the Sixers spot of desperation to not go on the road down 2-0. Of the three teams facing this predicament I felt that Philly was the most vulnerable to lose G2. If the Magic and Spurs don't take the crowd out of the game early they could face early double digit deficits and pack it in until they return home.

The game of the night is in Portland who just won their first game over OKC in 5 tries this year. This can go either way but I'm guessing that OKC properly adjusts and gives the Blazers a heavy dose of RWB and George. Thunder shot 5-33 behind the arc and I don't expect a repeat performance. They are the superior team, the more desperate team coming off a loss, and even a marginal improvement of that 15% 3pt shooting would have them up 1-0.

The full MLE will be almost 50% more than that. Doesn't mean that he won't sign for the 6.4, but it isn't all that close to the full MLE :)
Not that close, but — conjecture alert — close enough where his stated affection for Steph, Klay, Kerr and the Warriors culture (after years wandering the NBA wilderness) would easily close the difference. Basically, I don't think he leaves the Warriors unless he feels fully respected by another team with a max or near-max deal. Heck, if he wanted to take $8-20M from a bad organization over the Warriors' MLE, he could have done that this season, as the Pelicans reportedly offered him something in the top end of that range.

That said, I could easily see LeBron (who has called him the best big man in the league) getting the Lakers to pony up the $20M+ necessary to woo him, after striking out on Kawhi, KD, Klay and all the other big names. The result would probably be a 45-win playoff bubble team at best, but ah well...

This is hilarious

The Twitter poster clearly doesn't know Klay. The guy never changes his expression, ever. Well, apparently he does change his expressions but its never been confirmed because only Rocco has seen it.

Seriously, Steph may join the pro-am golf circuit after he retires but Klay is destined for the WSOP. I will be shocked if he even seriously entertains offers from anyone else.

KD, on the other hand, is day-to-day. After this last game, the odds of Durantexit clearly increased.

In a copy cat league, it’s kind of fun to see San Antonio just mid-range teams to death.
Makes you think of another old coach with plenty of championship rings, putting an emphasis on a running game when everyone else is going pass happy.

This take didn't age well. Though I agree that Pop is amazing because the team he is competing with would almost certainly fail to make the playoffs under lesser leadership.

As someone who had Denver -7 there will be no regrets whatsoever. Looking at OKC for the hat trick! :)
Nor should you and to be fair, they did look like garbage early until Jamal Murray decided to start playing. Nokic finally showed up too though you were correct in that he looked horrible out of the block.

Once again, Denver is one more scorer away from being a true contender. I really like Murray, Harris and Milsap in addition to Jokic and their sweet bench of Morris, Beasley and, occasionally Barton (who gets too much love for what he is imho). But they don't have that guy who can hunt and create their own scoring opportunities and it will hurt them. If not now, in the next round or two...

They might have that guy in Michael Porter, if he can ever get healthy. A bad back in someone so young is a tricky thing, but he has all the tools to be a superstar.

OKC Portland has the most potential for a first round brawl. Russ vs Dame, Collins vs everybody, Kanter vs everybody, Leonard vs Adams, Schroder vs everyone. Collins is a provocateur/villain for sure but the flashpoint will be Russ and Dame.

Blazers have been consistently picking the Thunders’ pocket in the 2nd half.
