Unless they can S&T Durant to generate a trade exemption

Dunno if that can work with the current cap rules but that was one thought that jumped to my head
It works, although it's not necessary if he goes the Nets/Knicks route (iirc).

Also just realized that Marc Gasol may end up winning a championship as one of the 3-4 best players on his team. That didn't seem like it was in the cards for him in his career just a few months ago, and is pretty cool.

If they win - do Lebron and others try to figure a way to make it to Toronto to win a title?

Agree with you Drew but I will say that watching the Isaiah highlight video, when Denver visited, might have been the most emotional I got during a game this year. Well, positive emotions anyway.

He's a long way from where he was 3 years ago. Danny may have to back the Good Humor truck up in his driveway.

If Durant can step in after this long injury, with a balky leg, and play well, that will be an amazing feat. I'm not seeing it, though.

I dont think they would go to these lengths for the smokescreen. I also don't think we'd hear any positive news if he wasnt fully ready. I expect the real, full, 100% KD tomorrow. I'm calling it. 25-30 point range if he plays.

weren't they just posting that he tried to participate in practice on Friday and "nothing about it went well"? It sounded pretty grim. Now you're calling that he's 100%? That's some BALCO-grade shit he's working with, if so.

I'm just thinking, how do you go from that to he might play? All we know, game 5 was the target all along.

He's KD. He's not going to come out and embarrass himself

Why not? Forcing the Raptors to prepare for Durant can only give them an edge albeit a small one at this stage of the game. Clearing him to practice only means that he's going to try and practice...….it doesn't mean he's a go in Toronto and certainly doesn't indicate he's anywhere near 100%. This seems to be the type of injury where you're either 100% or you're not and even if Durant is recovered physically he hasn't even been able to run in place much less running up and down a basketball court.....and even more less competing against NBA Finals level play.

If the Warriors are going to win 3 straight they are going to have to do it without Durant or without getting a ton out of him imo.

Even a very limited Durant would still be useful offensively because he gives them another shooter. If all Durant can do set some screens and stand in the corner and make 3s, that's still an upgrade over Jarebko and McKinnie and Cousins.

The bigger question is whether he can hold up on defense.

Need the Warriors to win tonight so Boston can win three straight championships. Come on, this is important.

The bar for an all-time legendary return from an injury in the finals is hobbling into two first quarter jumpers (2-5 overall) and then winning the game because your point guard torches everything in sight. I'm confident Durant will top Reed.

My stream is sourcing SN, a Canadian network, and the extent to which they're homers is hysterical. Durant drained that step-up 3 a few minutes ago and they basically didn't even call it. They termed the Curry 3-shot foul "a bit of a flop" (contact was made to the hands, though he flopped a bit in that he wasn't hit in the legs so no reason to fall on his ass), and haven't stopped complaining about the amount of contact Kawhi gets, especially since they called Van Vleet for the movement through the screen (which I agreed was a bit ticky-tack).

I know the numbers don’t mean anything anymore the way they used to, but Durant is playing like a very good, very tall two guard.

Warriors are all about denying Leonard clean looks and have done so thus far. Toronto will need someone else to carry some scoring if this continues.

I’m not saying I knew they were lying about his last practice not going well at all. But I knew not to believe everything GSW said. They had no reason to be honest.

Are we really criticizing Raptors fans for cheering Durant going down? Boston fans would likely do the same. Most fanbases would...
