I'll give it a few minutes, but honestly Adam Jones is instant NO for me. He's Mike Felger, sans the whimsy.

Good for Arcand being on a show in a major area not in the middle of the night. Jones? Not so much.

Am I wrong or was Adam Jones good once? Maybe 5 years ago I found him pretty entertaining. Now he's just part of the fellowship of the miserable.

You all realize that it's likely a station directive for the two shows that make up the second half of the programming schedule to be negative, right? Positivity doesn't bring in a lot of listeners or callers.

Seems fine for the first half the day.
That's why I said second half. They want people laughing early in the morning so they keep the radio on. Then, after they've settled into work (assuming they can listen to the radio while on the clock), they want to keep them with serious analysis mixed with a little goofiness. But when they're getting ready to go out into traffic, they want to fire them up so they'll get mad and keep listening to either hear someone speak "the truth" as they see it or to keep calling in the hopes of getting on the air. They want them going to sleep annoyed so that when they wake up they can get cheered up by the comedy antics on the morning show. And around and around it goes.

That appears to be the MO of The Sports Hub, anyway. Jones wasn't negative when he took over from DA and DA wasn't that negative either. Losing Keefe really hurt Jones in terms of having a lighter side. I expect Arcand to be a foil but there still to be a lot of doom and gloom.

The worst. Christian is the most talented host on the station. Really hope he lands on his feet with a full time gig.
I'd wager Hardy is the best, but Christian's great as well.
Been quite curious what the ad venues have been like for the past six months, whenever I listen it feels like half the ads are "WE HERE AT 98.5 SUPPORT THE FIRST RESPONDERS" type stuff.

Oh they’re hurting like every sports media outlet is. They probably saw it as a cost cutting move but are downgrading the talent level. Hope when this gets better he can be added back as a full time host.

I hope this is temporary as well. They’ve cut basically everything they can at this point except The Golf Club / Hey It’s Hardy (aka the Golf Club Wrap up Show) and 3 hours of Gasper & Murray and The Sunday Service. They had previously already cut out weekend update people.

Their ratings are still dominant but revenue must be down. I would be worried if I was Wallach.

I happened to have the Jones show on when I was making dinner, couple minutes after six o'clock. It was pretty cool to listen to Arcand to talk about how happy and grateful he was to remain on the show. Felt like a genuine moment.
