Gross. Such an unlikeable team and weasel of a coach.
Hey, they did what they needed to do. Oilers looked no ways like ever getting the goal they needed.

The franchise is a pustule but the players on the ice played a good game 7.

Agreed it was not a classic, precisely because FL snuffed out the danger so well.

Oh, I agree. More of a personality thing for me (Tkachuk, Bennett, Maurice, etc). Probably also some sour grapes considering they’ve knocked out the Bs the last two years.

Surprised McDavid won MVP. Really did nothing G6 or G7.
Florida bracketed him hard both games…got his teammates enough space in game 6, wasn’t enough in game 7 (and I thought he had an outstanding game, just missed a couple of opportunities, tho he was probably trying almost too hard to make shit happen at some points)

A Canadian team has not won the cup since the England It’s Coming Home song was written.
I appreciate this post.

I was flipping back and forth between this and the Brazil game, but like others said it wasn't as exciting as it should've been for a SCF G7. The end of the 1st was awesome with Skinner literally bending over in exhaustion after batting away approximately 3563453 shots, but the 3rd period EDM had...nothing left in the tank.

The Conn Smythe is unique as it’s an award for the best player in the entire playoffs, while other sports’ analogs are only for that series/game. It’s how we got J.S. Giguere winning it in 2003: an outstanding playoffs that carried the Ducks to Game 7 of the Final despite not being nearly the team that NJ was.

I wonder how many of the "CS on a losing team" winners managed to win one in a separate opportunity.

McDavid: CS in 2024. No cup yet.
JSG:CS in 2003. Won in 2007
Hextall: CS in '87. Won as AGM of Kings in '12
Reggie Leach: CS in 1976. Won in 1975
Glenn Hall: CS in 1968. On the cup w/o playing as a backup goalie in 1952. On the cup for 1961. Goalie coach in 1989
Roger Crozier: CS in 1966. 3 Cup Finals appearances, 0 wins.
