Good idea! Let's bring in a player who has lost a Game 7 of the Final at home!! Sets a good tone!

I live in Waterloo Region - 70 miles from Toronto. There is a viewing party here tonight with the invitation saying: "as the Oilers attempt an historic win in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final". Most of Canada will be watching.I always kind of wonder about this. Do they really feel added pressure? Is all of Canada really behind them? I guess the majority?
I would think Flames and Canucks fans aren't too enthused about the Oilers being the one to end the draught. I'm not sure how some of the eastern Canada markets would feel though. Montreal is full of themselves. Toronto thinks they are the center of the hockey universe so there may be some jealousy.
I understand all of Canada will be watching. I was wondering if all of Canada is actually rooting for the Oilers. Do the folks in Calgary and Vancouver put the rivalry aside and cheer on McDavid and co.? Do they do it begrudgingly? Or would they be rooting for Florida?I live in Waterloo Region - 70 miles from Toronto. I would say in Calgary they would be rooting so hard against them because of the rivalry. It would be like Rangers fans rooting for the Islanders to win the Cup.I understand all of Canada will be watching. I was wondering if all of Canada is actually rooting for the Oilers. Ummmm....did we watch different series?I would say in Calgary they would be rooting so hard against them because of the rivalry just to hold blowing a 3-0 lead over their heads for all eternity. It would be like Rangers fans rooting for the Islanders to win the Cup.

I'm pulling for the Oilers, not because I'm a fan, but I would like a Canadian team to win it again (other than Toronto)

I don’t think he actually feels human emotions.McDavid winning the Conn Smythe and leading a team back from an 0-3 series deficit to bring the Cup back to Canada would be one of the greatest accomplishments by an athlete ever.
I wonder if he’s nervous.
IronicA Canadian for the anthem in your home rink? Weird choice
Normally I’m not nationalistic about the NHL - but this is reason #1 to root for Edmonton. Reason #2 is this is possibly an amazing historical event.Really torn on this one. On one hand I’d like to see Florida complete the choke. On the other hand fuck Canada and their 30 year winless streak. This shit is gonna be lit though.
It's actually my favorite of the sports he calls.Sean really does a nice job calling NHL.
