I'll say this, though. Mahomes is an awesome QB. The way he gets rid of the ball, at the angles he does, is impressive. He's going to have some career. I do think his knee was a little messed up, because he did almost no running today, but he's a weapon.

For Brady to beat him today makes me really happy.

The lines.

O-line was a bunch of men amongst boys.

D-line was all over Mahomes.

The defense in general holding that team down, at home, was unreal.

Gronk, Jules, and Hogan with massive fucking catches.

This team is absolutely peaking.

In order:
Belichick -- this team was amazingly well coached today in all aspects
Brady - GOAT
Edelman - I don't know how he keeps doing it. As they're driving in the fourth I'm havign flash backs of Baltimore, Seattle, Atlanta....they have to win last year if they have him. He's a hall of famer at this point
Gronk - You know, he's just doing what's asked of him. When he's assigned to block he might as well be a 6th lineman (could Gronk be a starter in this league as a RT?)
Van Noy - excellent all game
Andrews - Chris Jones who???
JC Jackson -- fuck those penalties, Jackson shut whoever he was covering the fuck down. JC Jackson is going to be an all pro contender.

Jackson got absolutely hosed today. Proud of him for keeping it together after those calls.

Game Ball: Everyone
Goat: Me, for doubting (but the game script felt real bad after the 1st half)

Brady was a god, aside from the one bad play. Take away some drops and it looks even better.

OL basically pitched a shutout. Yes, the run game could have been better in 2H but came back in force when it counted, and Brady was clean all night.

The stat line may not show it but the D was balling tonight. Scheme looked pretty great to me. A couple deep balls + pick play and general game crazyness hurt the result but their work in the first half 100% helped keep the KC D on the field, and exhausted when it counted.

Flores- The defense gave up a lot of points in the 2nd half but Flores aggressive style is much more effective than whatever Patricia was doing for years.

A lot of guys played well; but Tom deserves every accolade he gets and more because the dude is just so fucking money on GW drives, the last two drives he delivered just fucking lasers.

The O Line was great, as were Develin and Gronk on running plays, it was like having two extra linemen out there.

Edelman wasn’t perfect but made a bunch of big catches over the middle, taking big hits but kept on going.

Secondary was actually quite good. Did it hear a lot from Kelce and Hill given they combined for nearly 3,000 yards this season.

I feel like a hundred dollar bill. Brady and Gronk and Edelman (and then not Edelman) and then Edelman, and the O line. We are so lucky.

Brady basically had three game winning drives in like 10 minutes of football. 7 min left in 4th, 2 min left in 4th, OT
But no TD passes during that time, so how good can he really have played?

;-)

Game balls:
Brady
Michel
Burkhead
Edelman
Gronk
Van Noy
Flowers
Develin

A lot of guys played really well tonight.

Also have to give credit to B-Flo and BB. They held Hill to 1 catch and Kelce to 23 yards. They rightfully made others beat them.

Hard to add to these. Ghost nailed that non-routine FG that mattered.

The replay crew in New York was pretty good.
Yep. As obvious as the Edelman non-muff looked, I was fully prepared for a bad call in that situation. Kudos to the guys in NYC for getting it right.

KC had a few huge plays to keep them in the game, as you knew they would. But otherwise, this was total domination by the Patriots. Kind of like the Atlanta SB in a way, when you see the final numbers.

Total yards:
- NE 524
- KC 290

TOP:
- NE 43:59
- KC 20:53

First downs:
- NE: 36 (1 by penalty)
- KC: 18 (4 by penalty)

Brady obviously but man, Julian Fucking Edelman is a playoff boss.

Nice to see Sony Michel proving Felger and Mazz wrong too.

And Gronk with a few Gronk moments as well.

Game ball to the entire team for winning on the road and coming back after falling behind in the 4th.
I was definitely a GOAT also for panicking and thinking it was over when the defense gave up the lead, the failed 4th down play, and the Gronk interception (waved off bc the offsides).
I also can’t believe people on twitter saying the Refs gave the game to the Pats - the hate is strong.

Those numbers really tell you the importance of turnovers.

That’s the stat you are missing. It’s amazing how much better you have to be on the road to overcome a -2 turnover ratio.

Shoutout to Mr. Ghost. Nailed a 47 yarder and drilled all of his XP attempts in less than ideal conditions when a single miss could’ve been killer.

And, incredibly enough, two other turnovers that didn't happen because of an overturn and a penalty. In summary, this game was pretty fucked up in so many ways, but Brady pulled it out because he's the GOAT.

So they changed around their DB coverage day of game to account for the unique matchups?

What tremendous balls to do basically the same thing they got called out for in last year’s Super Bowl

Um offensive line?

Also, about as good as it gets playing that offense in Arrowhead where they have to remain aggressive.

Hill and Kelce had FOUR catches. Like holy shit

I can't wait to discuss how overrated the Rams defense is for 2 weeks.

Someone start the thread.

A few other very interesting stats from this game.

Kyle Van Noy had 10 tackles (2 sacks, and a tackle for loss). No other Patriot defender had more than 3 tackles. Meanwhile, KC had 4 guys with at least 9 tackles (9, 12, 12, 14). That's what happens when the Pats run 94 offensive plays, and the Chiefs only run 43. Outrageous.

Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce combined for 3,000 yards receiving this year. Tonight, Hill had 1 catch for 42 and Kelce had 3 for 23. Year in year out, game in game out, Bill Belichick will take away the things you do best. And if you can't beat them another way, you're fucked.

Sony Michel now has 5td's in 2 playoff games. The 5td's is a new playoff record for a rookie.

I could go on and on, but man, this team.

And oh yea, TOM FUCKING BRADY.

Also, James White. Just watching the 1st half highlights now (thanks, SSF!), and man, White practically IS the first half highlights

Donald is a monster but the secondary can be had.
I'd go as far as saying their entire defense is exploitable except Donald and Talib.

Their secondary is baaaad. Real bad. Marcus Peters is a slightly more athletic Brandon Meriweather. Teams averaged 5.1 ypc against them.
They're very similar to KC but worse pretty much across the board, especially since the Kupp/Gurley injuries.
