Game Ball to Gisele for no longer being our Yoko. I love that woman and her awesome post game TB12 pics.

EDIT: And really happy for her and the family for finally getting to experience the joy of a Super Bowl victory. Just great.

Pre-season scouting call of the decade from Wutang112878 in the "Binky" thread from training camp (emphasis added)

Butler - wow what a find, it must be really difficult to project a D2 corner to the NFL especially with his horrible 40 time and 3 cone (if the numbers I saw online were accurate).  He looked solid in coverage, stripped the ball twice and is looking like a playmaker.  I dont know why but he sort of reminds me of Terrell Buckley.

Julian Fucking Edelman.  Got killed repeatedly and yet, unlike Denver's or Green Bay's receivers, came back and Did.His.Job.  He gets my game ball.  Legend.

One of them said that, had they won, they'd go down as the greatest team of all time. Another complained that the Patriots are so lucky because everyone always talks about them all the time - using the past two weeks as an example. A third said he hates "seeing the Patriots celebrate as if they earned it." Screw those guys. They're shit fans who think they're personally responsible for their team winning.

+1 for the OL. Outside of a little shakiness after Seattle made their halftime adjustments, they were lights out in pass protection.

Can't wait for Pats haters to claim conspiracy since Avril had to leave game with concussion but Edelman was clearly concussed and never had to step off the field.

He did. After the TD he got examined by the league doctors and didn't have concussion symptoms. I don't think he was concussed, I think he wrenched his wounded hip.

Over the last two years, the Seahawks led by 10 or more in the 4th quarter 18 times, and were 18-0 in those games.

Needless to say, they are now... wait for it... 18-1.

Game balls to everyone.  Hard to make a case for Manning (or anyone else) over Brady at this point.  I mean Manning had his shot against this team last year in this situation and we all remember how that went.  Not the exact same thing for sure, but as close as you're likely to get.  I'm really going to enjoy watching this game again when I won't stress so much about the outcome.

After the final gun my father and I broke the seal on a bottle of bourbon I obtained not long ago from Veritas.  On my way to the week 17 game.  Holy shit was that some tasty stuff.

I really only have one small point to add.  And it is small.  After all the ups and downs which have been covered so well I am just a little bit excited that I won't have to hear the line "yeah, but the Pat's haven't won since Spygate!!1!!"

Especially from the 'professional writers'.  Of course there will be people who will try and draw comparisons with deflategate, but fuck them.  Spygate was materially different in my eyes.

Also: Fuck. Yes.

What do we think of Harmon on that Kearse catch? It was so fluky I can't tell, and it's not like he could have drilled him without getting flagged. I think that's one that looks worse than it was.

No way he could do anything there. First of all, that was a fluke. Second of all, if he plows into Kearse, (pronounced curse, by the way, which would be the case for the Pats if Seattle scored) who was hit and clearly down, it would have been a penalty. He was just trying to get out of the way because the pass was obviously an incompletion. Until it wasn't.

Feels like so many things that have been bitched about for so long just don't matter anymore. Like all the draft day whining about taking a risk on Easley and taking JG instead of someone who could help the team win this year. DOESN'T MATTER.
Reasonable minds will differ on Easley, but I'm in the camp that he needed a medical / weight / strength gain red shirt year in the NFL. It's like they are going to have two first round picks next year....and a fucking Super Bowl win

It looks like it was mutual, between #85 trying to block Browner into a pick on Butler, and Browner trying to jam him as close to the line as possible in order to prevent that from happening.  I don't think you can call that blocking downfield, but it was a great physical play from Browner to stand his ground and give Butler enough of an angle to make the play.  Browner's role in that play should not go overlooked.

FORMAL REQUEST - I don't care whether it's here or in P&G, but can someone please make a thread with every article, every video, and every picture that we can find from the postgame coverage?  Gisele's TB12 pics included.

I think that people like myself who are living out of region would love to be able to come to SoSH as the single point of entry for links to everything we want to spend the next year savoring, just as we have for analysis since September.

This isn't uncommon, especially where the Patriots pick. Gilbert, Ebron, Shazier, Manziel, Ford, Dennard, Marcus Smith all had semi-redshirt years like Easley, and Clowney, Verrett, Cooks, Ward all had seasons cut short by injury. Of course, that means there's a good chance the Pats' 2015 first-rounder is a semi-redshirt, too.

He hasn't been consistently dominant, but Vereen came up huge yesterday.  His ability to win his matchup gave the Patriots a ton of offensive freedom.  The Pats are going to have a tough decision to make with him but he was great in the game yesterday and deserves tremendous kudos.  Don't know that it's game ball worthy, but he belongs in the conversation, as someone mentioned above.

For all the flack Josh McDaniels often gets (sometimes from me), I think they had an excellent idea of how to attack the Seattle defense.  They weren't able to force the D to completely unravel, but they identified some areas where Seattle would be vulnerable and too stubborn to change their entire D and it worked really well.  Bringing back all the short passes and RB out of the backfield stuff really neutralized Seattle's rush and gave the Patriots momentum.  Conventional wisdom would probably say that you can't play sideways against a team known for its speed like Seattle, but the Patriots seemed well prepared for this game and seemed to have a plan of attack.

Can I just say how fucking stupid it is that they just sealed a Super Bowl win and get flagged for excessive celebration?

Browner ripped his helmet off, so they had to call it.

The offensive line needs some love in this thread. They went up against a very good defensive front of Seattle and while they weren't perfect (couple of sacks, holding call, some rushed throws) they stepped up in the 4th quarter big time. The two touchdown drives would never have happened if they weren't able to give Brady the time he needed. They created great sight lines and those two gigantic pockets for Brady to step up into.

Really, the entire offense played nails in the 4th quarter.

The bolded point cannot be stressed enough. Browner jamming Kearse kept Butler from getting picked and allowed Butler to make his incredible play. Great coaching and great execution.

The game wasn't over. I don't know what your complaint is. It 100% should have been called.

Yeah, in real time I was thinking "dammit Harmon, why wouldn't you just dive right over Kearse's body and break up the ball [again]?", but thinking back, I have no idea whether that would be called for DPI or UR.  And of course we can't really blame him - in the flow of play, he's moving as fast as he can and has a tiny fraction of a second to either blow up Kearse or jump over him.  He sees the ball tipped and decides to clear out.  But I'm curious about your statement - COULD Harmon have drilled him and not gotten flagged?  Or was this a "there is no legal way to play defense" moment?

Technically correct, and of course it's a game of rules.

But can you imagine if somehow the game hinged on that?

That would SUCK.
