This defense is really something else. 2 100-yard rushers but only gives up 13 points, thanks to 4 turnovers.

Once again, it's game ball time!

What an odd game.

Bourne. And I saw Mills do some things.

The WR and TEs for making Peashooter Jones look like he doesn’t suck. Not enough explosive plays without them bailing him out.

Goat of the Game: Charles Davis.

JCJ - Made probably the turning point play of the game . . . Twice.
Bourne - Playmaker
Folk - Consistency
Mac - No big mistakes, playing winning football

Mac. He wasn’t perfect which led to lots of complaints, but 310, 2 TDs, 0 turnovers, and a 123.2 rating is a hell of a game, especially for a rookie.

Bourne. Absolutely love that guy.

JCJ. Throwing in his direction is absolutely futile. And his strip turned the game.

Edit: I’ll echo others in saying Folk. Crazy that he’s basically Justin Tucker on kicks under 50

Imagine a world where a QB never makes a bad play?

That is not this world.

Mac was phenomenal today.

The refs for forcing the Titans to burn a challenge on their first TD, which in turn “iced” their kicker on the extra point attempt, followed by his next FG attempt.

1. JC Jackson. His forced fumble during a long Tennessee rush was the single most pivotal play in the game. His interception off the McCourty deflection on the Titans late 4th and goal attempt was the nail in the coffin. There are 12 minutes left and Tennessee is down 13. If the pass falls to the turf, Pats have to start from the 2, and a safety or 3 and out keeps TN in it. JC's pick/touchback lets the Pats start from their 20.
2. Kendrick Bourne. Nifty guy. Two different excellent plays on his 2 TD catches. I think many good NFL receivers, given those 2 chances to score, would have come away with zero TDs instead of 2. Bourne may not have the measurables but he is becoming one of those guys who just gets it done.
3. Jalen Mills. Two passes defensed and made the important and harder-than-it-looked fumble recovery on hte JC forced fumble.

Others of note:
  • Folk 5-6 on Fas, while the TN kicker biffed his first 2 kicks (PAT and FG attempts) off the same upright.
  • Mac's second career 300 yard game and he made some excellent throws, such as the first Bourne TD (which was a great throw, great defense, and a GREAT catch). He also made a couple of terrible throws (the misfire into the ground and the near interception on the following play), and badly missed an open Hunter Henry twice, once for what would have been an easy touchdown.
  • Meyers made a great catch on Mac's 38 yard bomb, but also might have taken 3 points off the board by running his route out of bounds, negating a key catch late in the half before a Folk missed FG.
  • Jonnu made some plays today
  • Stevenson and Harris did nothing for the first 3 quarters but gained some key rushing yards in the 4th. Rhamondre had an incredible 19 yard run.

Can we not have nice things?

Can't we give the game ball to the whole team, who made many more positive plays than a team ahead of us in the standings? If Baltimore loses this team is the #1 seed 12 weeks into the season. Does this team need to be 12-0 with Mac completing 90% of his passes with 40-2 TD-INT ratio to make you happy? This is the game ball thread, why are we dragging it down after an important win

It was a complete team win. But I’ll single out Mac, Bourne, JC, and Folk. I’m more encouraged about this team than at any point during this streak. Tennessee is a very well coached, tough team and they found ways to win without playing their best football.

Pretty remarkable that it wasn't close in the end despite allowing 2 100 yard rushers, and with their main RBs averaging almost 8 yards per carry. Even taking out the long run before the half, Hilliard/Foreman averaged 5.7 yards per carry.

Too much Bill in our blood. "We could have done some things better".

Despite the 68 yard rushing touchdown which I will call an anomaly, our safety group of Dugger / Phillips / McCourty has been spectacular.

Sorry for the sidetrack but I can't stand these next gen stats. What does 0.3% mean? Probability of what conditioned on what?
I would assume that means .3% of plays from that place on field with that down and distance result in a TD.

We just beat the team that was #1 in the AFC by 23 points. Yes, they were missing key players, and of course they're MUCH different with Henry. But if they had Henry, would they have rushed for much more than 270 yards and 6.9 yds per rush? I don't think so.

Great win. Six in a row now.

I was assuming some of the posts here were sarcastic. Maybe not? Regardless, football is a weird, random game with a strangely shaped ball that bounces funny. We won by 23 today, that’s a great thing.

And they left a pile of points on the field.

Bills are -7 next week. I’ll take the Pats and 7.
