Hello. In the past, I have run a small group on ESPN where people pick fantasy lineups based upon the NFL playoffs.

ESPN Gridiron Challenge

In an effort to sweeten the pot, and make things more interesting, I am offering $500 to the winner(no entry fee required), $100 to the second place finisher, and, if this pool gets 30 total entries or more, $400 to the Jimmy Fund. Winnings will only be sent by Paypal only. So if you happen to win and then tell me to send you a check, you will not receive a check and the person who finishes below you will get the winnings. One entry per ESPN user login. I guess you can do multiple log ins but I would prefer people not do that to keep things fair.

The group is: SonsofTomBrady. The password is: omardead

You pick your lineup the first three weeks of the playoffs, based upon the salary cap ESPN has. So you can change your lineup the first three weeks of the playoffs. i.e. do not pick players on a bye this weekend. Before the NFL Championship weekend, you pick the players for the that weekend AND the Super Bowl, as lineups will lock once the Championship games start.

Good luck and good picking!

These are always fun. The charity stuff is very appreciated. I'll be in again this year.

Picks go in anytime before the games start. But, yes, you can make them now. Do NOT forget to change your picks after this weekend.

Wait, so we change our picks each week? So, I shouldn't pick Tom Brady for this week?

In! Thanks for the shot.

Edit: Pappymojo, that's right. It says right on the front page: there is no need to have players from the top 2 seeds in the first week. Your roster is only sticky during Championship Weekend. In other words, whichever roster you set for AFC and NFC finals will hold for Super Bowl Sunday, so pick the players that will play for the Lombardi that weekend... unless one week of Championship Game loser > 2 weeks of winner.

Thanks for setting this up!   I'm in as Professor_Gumby.

I will follow alydar's lead: anything I should win goes straight to the Jimmy Fund.

I am in. And winning this thing. So is JohnMD paying out of pocket for us to do this? I am confused.

Yes. He's awesome and likes for people to enjoy his money.

Usually on prostitutes.

Ladies of the night would have been accepted, too.

And, yes, usually I have done this without the cash award but with the money going to the Jimmy Fund. This year it's both to galvanize interest, especially for the final two rounds, which is when about half the people abandon the pool. And it worked, we easily have triple the people we usually have for this and there are three more days to sign up.

So it's on. The winner is going to have to be very lucky. But it will be a modest reward well earned.

I'm in as gjanian.  Going to have to find someone with a Paypal account, if by some miracle, I win, or maybe just donate my winnings to the Jimmy Fund, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.

Thanks for the contest and generosity.
I thought this was going to be the first weekend in a while that I didn't have to worry about Fantasy Lineups and Games, but I couldn't refuse getting in on this.  :buddy:

We have 95 people so far. That is amazing. Thanks to everyone for making this one a fun one to follow, it should be pretty good. Due to the increased interest and humongous pool of contestants, the prizes are going UP!

First place will get $800, second place will get $300, and now third place will get $100. That is US currency. I will make another donation to the Jimmy Fund, too. Onward and upwards.

One final note, just to reiterate, if you don't have paypal and you win and ask me to mail you a check, you will be exempt from receiving your prize. Happy New Year.
