This roster of head coaches is pretty fascinating and also top-heavy.

Reggie Barlow, Anthony Becht, Wade Phillips, Bob Stoops, Rod Woodson, Hines Ward, Terrell Buckley, Jim Haslett

Holy shit. This is happening again?

Didn't we just have the American Alliance of Associational Football of the All American Alliance of Associations fail three years ago without even completing the season?

I suppose one of these years it will work, but I really wonder what makes the money behind these things think each time "Ok, this time it will stick for sure."

We also had a second XFL fail two years ago. This is XFL 3.0

XFL III and FSG share RedBird Capital as investors, so if you hate on this league, you also hate the Red Sox. And the Penguins.

The current big question mark is if they go back to individual cities in 2023 or if they do a single city hub like the USFL. Sounds like if they do go back to cities, Los Angeles, New York, and Tampa are out and Vegas, San Antonio, and Orlando are in.

I can't get enough of these startup football leagues. XFL II was awesome. Here's hoping they or the USFL can finally crack the nut.

All of these leagues are banking on the very lucrative TV sports rights bubble to want to sign up for some spring pro football. XFL 2.0 got off to a good ratings start; it was unclear where they were headed before the pandemic hit and ruined things (well, that is the generous recap of what happened). XFL 3.0 likely has much more stable investment, although at some point I think people are going to get turned off by all these secondary leagues starting and failing (The New USFL kicks off this week!). However, if they are getting decent numbers, it wouldn't be unrealistic to expect either a network, cable, or streaming entity (or perhaps, all three) plunk down a sizeable piece of change to show the spring football league.
