No shit. It looks like a junior high metal shop project. Everything about it is cheesy awful, from the varying width of the spacing between lines, to the crooked placement of letters, to the complete lack of consistent horizontal alignment. Thomas's name actually came out awesome compared to Seidenberg and Bob Essensa.

It's not engraved. They are basically stamped letters that are held up to the metal and then pounded in. It's indented, not carved out. There was a fascinating article about the process floating around somewhere I'll see if I can find it.

I actually think it's kinda cool they do it this way.
