This game looks much tougher than I thought.

Carr is playing great with a lot of options everywhere. However, I'm encouraged by the emergence of Wino and Dugger to offset LV's momentum.

For some terrific background info, check out the Raiders thread.

The Raiders' defense is bad. The Pats will score.

The game will come down to the ability of the Pats defense to get off the field. The Raiders are not terribly explosive, but they are third in the league so far with over 46 yards per drive, first in the league with 7.83 plays per drive and third with 3:45 TOP per drive.

Add in third in league with a 53% per play success rate. Considering how both of these teams like to maintain possession, we could be seeing a 12-14 possession game on Sunday.

Trent Brown is the most important one to watch, even more so than the 2 stars in Jacobs & Waller.

Hopefully, this is one of those games where a hot-start team comes into Foxboro early in the season and get blown out.

However, we'll need much better effort from the front-7 (especially with the banged up Raiders OL) to even cover the relatively high line (-6).

I wonder if the TEs will get more involved this week. McD has expanded the playbook each Sunday and we haven't seen much out of Asiasi, Izzo, nor Keene.

Not ideal . Who is the Jack of All Trades on the (The Ted Karras) inside of the Line? Thuney and Mason seem more likely to kick outside than inside.

Looks like (based many twitter reports) Henry Ruggs is likely out on Sunday. The new deep threat for the Raiders is Nelson Agholor, with Rico Gafford probably coming off the practice squad for the week.

Probably Froholdt, but they could call Ferentz up from the PS.
All of my football playing experience is limited to two-hand tackle after thanksgiving dinner...so this is a probably a neophyte question.

Would it be better to have a better physcial specimen (I would say "Thor", but that is apparently designated to Wino, so "Frodo") in, with maybe Thuney or Mason making the line calls, or a less talented person with a better familiarity of the offense in Ferentz?

Unlike last week I think this is a pretty good matchup for the the defense. Same for the offense. I know he was a rookie but Ruggs dictated a lot of coverage. With him out my only concern is in the trenches vs the run. I think Waller is good but the Patriots won’t give him the kind of cushion NO did. Speaking of what was up with that?
Defensively I am not scared of Oakland. I expect the Patriots to win this one comfortably. 2+ scores.
