The Red Sox will be wearing yellow and blue uniforms on Patriots' Day weekend

I think the NBA definitely benefits from its jerseys, no way it succeeds in spite of them. I would never consider buying any jersey other than Celtics or suns if they were just normal jerseys, but I’d absolutely buy, for example, the heats miami vice jersey. Cool colors on uniforms definitely help sell merch and make people more excited about teams they otherwise wouldn’t care about at all. Of course, I say this based exclusively on personal experience and with no data

Also, I’m not sure the Yankees not participating makes the average fan think anything other than they’re boring and take things too seriously. It’s like their facial hair policy-doesn’t make me think of them as protecting their brand, just makes me think they’re no fun. And if you’re gonna be 5-10, at least be fun

I think it's very telling that the Yankees are not participating, when I'm sure they were #1 on Nike's wish list. The Yankees have always been extremely protective of their brand, and it pays dividends.
I've read that every team will be doing it, but the list you posted is the 2021 teams, the others will be in upcoming seasons, including the Yankees.

That actually makes me feel a bit better. I still think it's a mistake, but at least it's an MLB mistake and not really a Red Sox mistake.
So ok, it was Nike that desecrated Fenway Park and all it's history with that festering pile of afterbirth? I guess I feel better. The socks with that baby blue B and 1901 clashing logo, though are genius. I'm trying to come up with an outfit where they would shine.

Also, they're 1-0 in those unis... so...

I liked the uniforms, I want a fitted but soft (non player style) baseball cap in the color scheme.

edit: I think a New Era 9Twenty Fitted is what im after... I hate New Eras naming scheme.

I’m all for the Red Sox finding new revenue without reaching into my pocket or subjecting me to more ads. Alternate unis are fine with me.

That said, I didn’t like the yellow ones. I understand what they were doing with the marathon colors; it just didn’t work imo.

I believe the 9Twenty is adjustable, not fitted. I really wish New Era was still making/stocking the 49Forty. It was basically the same thing as the '47 Brand (formerly Twins Enterprises) Franchise fitted caps that I've worn for decades, but it seemed to be of higher quality and the sizing wasn't hit and miss like '47.

I've found the 39Thirty (the "stretch fit") to be a solid alternative to the '47 Franchise, among other things the color doesn't fade immediately,

So it seems they were a hit. The main Fanatics site doesn't have any of the caps available and the New Era site only has the smallest 39Thirty (stretch fit) and an 8 in fitted.

It's really weird you can buy the 49Forty for every team except the Red Sox... wtf? https://www.neweracap.com/All-Headwear/49FORTY/c/AHE49F . I swear these used to be super common too, weird they stopped being sold all-together.

Yea I usually wear 47/Twins branded stuff, but they're not selling this particular color scheme (licensing?) Maybe once they see how popular it is they'll pony up.

I'll second this. I love this hat style. I have a big dome and the L/XL accommodates it really well. Super comfortable hat.

well, seems like this jersey was a smashing success, which means we will see more of this (like the NBA) in the future)
