In Houston, two years after our last win, against a surprise NFC team from the South.

Pats open as -3 favorite. Top scoring offense vs. top PA allowed defense.
Going to be a long 2 weeks.

I wonder how much the Pats will watch Super Bowl 49 with Quinn as the D Coordinator. The personnel is different but the scheme is likely the same.

I hate to say it but I wonder what faux scandal will arise over the next two weeks. If we have learned anything about Goodell's NFL its that they love to hype up seemingly innocuous things to deflect from the seedier underbelly (CTE, domestic violence) of the league. It keeps the focus on the league and the game during the first week of the two week period too.

Matt Ryan was the 6th most sacked QB in the regular season with 37. They can get to him.

Brady saying "shit" in his press conference? The commish can show how much he cares for the children.

He took some shots in that game. Brady tried to match him on the last scoring drive, but Ryan showed some poor awareness in the second half.

Disagree, I think this team kills the Giants.
My heart couldn't handle that game and build up and POTENTIAL.

'07 we were supposed to kill them, too. Fuck it, don't want to risk it. Same reason I hate when the Ravens are against us in the playoffs. Terrifying.

If Brady gets 300 yards and 3 TDs in Houston he will set playoff records for playoff games for each of those. And a win, the most importantly, would be a record 5th for a Non-lineman

Is there a chance the roof will be open or is it absolutely closed for the Super Bowl?

This might be the first time since the last Houston Super Bowl where Pats fans will not be outnumbered in town and in the building (Eagles, Giants, Seahawks).

Why would the dome favor Atlanta? Brady is the balls in domes.

I'm so glad we're not playing the Giants.
Disagree, I think this team kills the Giants.
FWIW, the Pats did not exactly play well during the two AFCCG wins prior to facing the Giants in the Super Bowl. In 2007, the Pats kind of hung on to a 21-12 lead against the Chargers; in 2011, they were the beneficiary of a missed 32 yard field goal with 14 seconds left, but were arguably outplayed by the Ravens (398-330 edge in total yards, 3 Pats turnovers vs 1 for the Ravens). Brady's QB rating in those 2 games was 66.4 and 57.5, and both were his worst performances during those respective seasons (his ratings during those Super Bowl losses were 82.5 and 91.1, respectively).

Brady's QB rating during his other 5 AFCCG victories:

2001: 84.3* (left game due to injury)
2003: 76.1
2004: 130.5
2014: 100.4
2016: 127.5

So, yeah, I think this team would have destroyed the Giants.

Of course, the detractors will say he will have the worst record of any QB to start seven Super Bowls

I think this is the team Belichick has been trying to build for a while now. A #1 defense without any hired guns like Revis, but no weaknesses either.

I think this is a good matchup. Atlanta is obviously pretty far from the "great defense that gets pressure rushing 4" mold that we've seen in the Giants, Seahawks, and Broncos. But having said that, I'm still nervous.

Seahawks CB are worse to me but the S are just as good LB are Fast Beasley can wreck a game

Atlanta is 25th in defense and they gave up 25.4 ppg and they play primarily zone. Brady carves zones Ds up for breakfast.

deep inside Guido territory
They'll double Julio with either Ryan/Rowe and a safety. Butler should go on Sanu and Gabriel gets most likely Ryan. Make Matt Ryan check down to TE/RBs and tackle well. Need pressure on him much more than tonight.
