He isn’t starting until next season, if I recall correctly.

Why? I don’t know.
Because he's probably coming back to the NFL. If Brady joined the Niners Week 10 last year, they win the Super Bowl. I think he's going to look for a similar option in October.

It can’t be that simple, can it? It’s not the same as Roger Clemens joining a team on August 1. Reps matter in the NFL. Or so I would think.

It could be that simple.

Brady could look at the NFL landscape in October, especially in the NFC, and if there is a solid team who needs a QB, I could see him going back. Tom Brady is insane. I assume he's still working out like a madman. And if he was on SF last year, they win the Super Bowl, IMHO.

I assume this has been covered somewhere, but I missed it. Wouldn't he have to divest himself of his Raiders' ownership interest if he returned to the NFL as a player?

He was just on a safari to Africa with his kids. I think playing football is the furthest thing from his mind right now.

I doubt playing football won’t be on Brady’s mind until he’s in his late 50s.

I also wouldn’t be surprised at all if he was waking up at 4am on the Serenghetti to do 2 hours workouts while he was on safari. I mean, they guy’s a lunatic. He was OUR lunatic, but a lunatic none the less.

I’m not sure that he’ll come back. He looks thin right now, and adding the football pounds on quickly might not be feasible. But I wouldn’t entirely rule it out.

I suspect he’s also keeping an eye on Vegas, of which he has a minority ownership stake. Reuniting with Josh and a lot of his guys is surely a draw.

Raiders defense stinks tho. They have absolutely nothing after Crosby. And they are in a brutal division and in the wrong conference.

If Brady goes back, it will be to the NFC. The AFC has too much power.

Have you guys seen him lately? The dude is kind of skinny now, his face has this almost gaunt look.
I know his thing is about pliability and not lifting weights per se, but it's hard to imagine him suiting up again with how he looks now.

There was a story last week that the 49ers supposedly had an agreement with Rivers that if they had won the NFC championship, Rivers would have come out of retirement and played in the Super Bowl for them. I'm not sure if that's even allowed or feasible but that's what was reported anyways.

Oh, it's absolutely allowed...at the most extreme end of examples to prove such an allowance, Damion Square (LV, CIN), Jared Veldheer (IND, GB), and Tramon Williams (BAL, GB) all actually were on multiple playoff teams within the same playoffs. That said, none of them actually played for both teams; the closest was Square on the Bengal PS.

Now if it's feasible given the nature of a quarterback's role, I question that feasibility a lot. Especially given how different his Charger and Colt offenses were, contrasted with a Shanny offense.

if he is going to be in the raiders group he might be locked only to the raiders because if i was a owner and brady wanted to come back i would make a stink about it unless it was to NE

It's the Raiders, so it's probably 'especially if it was to NE'
