The first episode is up on Facebook.
Not entirely sure which direction this will go, though I have a feeling this will lean toward being an ad for the TB12 method. The stuff about his training methods is interesting though, and he's definitely lucky to have someone like Giselle who seems very supportive.

One day, he’s eventually going to transcend this plane and become himself a brand in some kind of Lawn Mower Man / Neo kind of sublimation, isn’t he?

I had Tom House's baseball card when he pitched for the Expos. Thrilled when the Sox acquired him--then hated him when he didn't pitch well.

All these years later I like him again.

Man I wish B.B. would do something like this before it’s over. That one year w the 09 team was awesome, except it was the 09 team

Their properties adjoin. Kraft wanted to buy the land from Pine Manor himself but the town wouldn't allow it. They did allow TB to buy it.

And if anyone doesn't think there's a handshake deal there that as soon as the Bradys move out of the Boston area that land goes to Kraft for a healthy sum, well, I don't know what to tell you

I was picturing the houses, if “house” is the right word.

Kraft owns at least a half dozen properties in that area already. He’s piecing together quite an estate.

Watching these have been a mixture of ‘it’s awesome to get an inside look at our GOAT who’s so private otherwise’ + ‘is this just basically a long form infomercial?’ + ‘he’s a fucking weird dude, borderline sociopath’ + ‘fuck I wish I was half as dedicated/driven to something as he is’.

The whole thing about how he can only deal with losing because there's usually a game next week he has to go win was equal parts disturbing and inspiring.

Jonathan Kraft's wife went to my alma mater and they hosted an alumni event once at their "house." At no point was I in a room that remotely resembled somewhere people live. The main presentation was in a full-size basketball court.

Rich people, man.

I could be wrong, but I have it in my mind that Holley asked Belichick about this at some point and he indicated he’d be willing to do something like Hard Knocks when he’s in his last couple years. Plus we got the Two Bills thing to hold us over for now.

We’ll see.

If I get one Belichick media request, it's a tell-all book. One 43-minute video suitable for television is not going to slake my thirst for what the man actually thinks.

‘fuck I wish I was half as dedicated/driven to something as he is’.
As someone who is like Tom when it comes to working and attempting to do so with learning, with respect to devotion and motivation specifically (and attempts at success but yeah no, not currently; be humble or be humbled), knowing my company, my role (self-created customer service model, fast food), its execution, both macro and micro, it's a blessing and a curse. You get shit done at a crazy pace with anticipation but holy shit you can't escape it. Of course, it sure makes mundane tasks exciting as I love being able to find motivation in genuinely any aspect of my job and curiosity about myself: What can I improve in every fucking facet? Then take action, learn how to do so.

The whole thing about how he can only deal with losing because there's usually a game next week he has to go win was equal parts disturbing and inspiring.
Tom's reaction isn't typical here? Serious. That's the only thing that gets me better after a loss in any part of life, sports or otherwise, as someone just a touch competitive and insanely energized for most parts of life. God almighty, I can't put into words how much I loathe losing. That said, that's not in a sulking sense, but rather, the words of Bear Bryant (paraphrased) are my guide: Losing doesn't want to make me want to quit, it just wants to make me try and win THAT much harder the next time. And so I put in the work to do so, thus cycling with PP's quote. The moment at which we fail to attempt to improve is simultaneously the moment in which we actively choose to decline.

Oh yeah, I can't get enough of these. Pure Patriots porn, honestly. They all seem to end way too soon, just as my laser focus is coming into gear. It's genuinely inspiring to see such devotion, hard work pay off to such unprecedented levels, let alone the team he plays for obviously.

WEEI's Reimer may be rethinking his comments about Brady's daughter:

Tom Brady cuts his weekly interview short on WEEI, saying he was disappointed to hear of news that host Alex Reimer made a disparaging remark about his daughter when discussing the "Tom vs. Time" documentary. Brady said he is evaluating if he wants to be on the show again.

That doesn't really seem too out there. You hear baseball players say some variation of "The good thing is we have another game tomorrow" a lot. It's just how Brady is able to move past a loss--because if he doesn't, there could be another one coming.

So season-ending losses just eat at him. He was still upset when talking about that 2007 Super Bowl.

On the one hand, good for Tom, and I wouldn't be surprised if WEEI cans Reimer in order to keep TB as a regular feature. Know where your bread is buttered, etc. I'd expect any parent to feel similarly.

On the other hand, Tom had to kind of expect that if he's going to make a Kardashians-like spectacle out of his family, some people are going to voice moronic opinions about them, and he can be neither too surprised nor offended. If a public figure preserves his family's privacy, then I agree that remarking about them is beyond the pale (except maybe for the POTUS) and deserves shaming. But if you go out of your way to put them on display, then trying to police everyone's opinions about it after the fact seems not only futile but foolish.

You brought this on yourself, dude. You used your family as props, in a PR strategy to make you more relatable or sell a brand or whatever. Nobody knows better than you how stupid the sports media are, particularly in Boston. So I have limited sympathy for his outrage.

The part with Tom House near the beginning was fantastic. I was watching this in my garage, standing up and mimicking the motions and adjustments that they were doing on screen, and damn if I didn't feel the same things when I changed my arm slots--this way pulls your head to the side, holding your arm like this makes the turn of your hips easier. It was pretty cool. The "taint" bit slayed me. Here's this old dude just talking in a totally level, quietly calm voice about throwing mechanics, "This is what I see, I can't feel what you're feeling, but this causes this" no inflection, just the nicest grandpa in the world teaching his little buddy how to throw a football, then he busts out "You don't wanna be taint. You're either ass or pussy with nothing in between" in the same quiet grandpa voice like he's reading off a shipping report. I sort of half-heard it while I was pretending to be Tom Brady, went back to listen again, and about did a spit-take. And I love that when he was talking about how "the aging process is unforgiving," House said "He's not going to be able to do at 70 what he's doing now" rather than, say 45.

"You know, we're the fucking Patriots."
-Tom Fucking Brady.

There's no excuse for what Reiner said. He could have expressed the same concept, about thinking the domestic scenes were hokey, without calling a little kid a name.

The bottom line for Tom though is that in 2018 this is par for the course when you put yourself and your family out there. I will gobble up every minute of the series, but I also recognize that it's a bit out of character for Brady. He has been pretty consistent about being a very non-public, public figure, and this is a step that's a little surprising. He has protected himself and his family from this stuff for a long time. Hopefully, this is a shot across the bow for anyone else. We'll see.

Edit: beaten to it by insta

I get what you're saying, but I think the idea that he brought this on himself on himself by using his family as props in a Kardashian-like spectacle is pretty severely overstating things. These shows don't come across that way to me, but I guess we see them differently. It's true that he should expect some shitty things to be said, but to me he's well within reason to react negatively to them, especially when they appear on a platform like that radio program. If I viewed the parts of the show that include his family as a Kardashian-like spectacle, maybe I'd feel differently.

Well, let me ask you: what do you think the point of the show is? There's Chopra's motivation, and then there's Brady's (and Gisele's) motivation. Let's leave Chopra aside for the moment.

Brady is a professional athlete with an 18-year history of being guarded about his personal life. Some top pros don't mind being open books about their life; others like Lebron and Federer are as guarded as he is. He does what's required of him by his league and team, and basically no more. So why the sudden change? What does this gain him?

I have my own answer, but I'd be interested in yours.

Are you kidding me with this? The kid was in the background in one scene telling her dad she's going to a soccer game and to a friends house or something. It was perfectly normal kid behavior, there was nothing spoiled or entitled about her behavior, nothing in any manner whatsoever "Kardashian-like" about the way it was presented.

I think any piling on of Tom based on what comes out in these episodes is fair game, and Giselle too. It shouldn't be asking too much to lay off the kids, they are not the focus of the episodes and only appear in the periphery of a couple of scenes.

His motivation could be explained by a later installment.

Placing the Kardashian label on it is a little much. It’s not like the kids (who aren’t even identified by name on screen) are giving interviews about their dad. So far, this is basically a super high end “A Football Life” without NFL Films.

He is a very large celebrity and people are talking about him and writing about him regardless of how much he participates. I think this platform allows him (1) to present himself and his family in a controlled and honest manner outside of the league's agenda, (2) to build a brand, (3) to advocate for a lifestyle that he believes would be helpful for a larger population, (4) to make money, and (5) to set-up a potential second career for when his football career has ended.

His kids have been in there for a total of around 2 minutes(maybe less) of the 30 plus minutes of the 2 episodes. They aren't a primary part of the documentary. Make fun of Brady all you want, but the kids are off limits.

Plus his kids aren't really doing anything annoying. If they were running around screaming at their parents, fist fighting and being little assholes, I could see someone making a comment about it but his kids are literally doing nothing outside of wanting to go to soccer. (the second episode hadn't even aired when he made the comment). It was just Reimer trying to get his name out there and be a hot take guy.

While I am no fan of WEEI and would like to see the morning show vaporized, let's get a little perspective here on just how terrible Reimer was or wasn't. He made a snarky comment about some cute kids, that's all. It's not the worst thing said on WEEI by a long shot and Brady is being a little thin-skinned about this. Worse, he's jacked up their ratings because the "will they or won't they fire Reimer" is now the hottest take on sports radio. WEEI can milk this for the entire week leading up to the Super Bowl. Why learn anything about the Eagles when you can spend all your time stirring up in-house drama?

So we need perspective because it's "not the worst thing" on WEEI? What does that say about that show and that station? He's not being thin-skinned about it either. A grown man does not take shots at a 5-year-old on the air. It's wrong.

Sure, but the parent of those kids is quite obviously going to be a bit more sensitive to those comments.

If I call random kids at the park assholes, no big deal. If I call them assholes to their parents, well, the reaction will be much different.

People want Brady to be seen as less of a robot and then someone criticizes his kids and when he reacts as most parents would people have issues?

Others have answered better than I probably can, so I'll repeat the idea that it's not like the show is centered on the family stuff and that's the major thing that's being used to humanize TB12 (the person and the brand.) If part of the goal of the show is increased relatability, which is probably true, there's a lot more of that happening outside of the brief family bits.

I think the platform matters too. I'm sure there are plenty of Joe Schmoe Patriots haters saying worse things about the kids to their minor followings on Twitter. I'm sure he expected that, and he's not out there blasting random comments online. This is a much larger platform, a show that he apparently gives a fair amount of time to, and I think he's right to not put up with it from that source. I don't know anything about the radio program, maybe that's their shtick and he should have expected it, but it didn't sound that way from what the hosts said to him in the clip when he said he was disappointed.
