For which he has just been named to the Hall of Fame by the Veterans Committee.
Joining John Wooden, Lenny Wilkens and Bill Sharman as the only people to make the HOF both as a coach and as a player.

Now if only Tommy could go into the HOF as a broadcaster, he would be the first three timer.

Lenny Wilkens is a three-timer as a player, coach and member of '92 dream team as an asst coach.

He's also a member of the college basketball hall of fame #gofriars

Is Tommy going to troll about Kyrie all season?

I really hope so.

There was also a snarky allusion to the upcoming Nets game from one of the two. I forget what it was.

I expect there to be more.

Yea But...
"I will make a Wager right now that Williams finishs at 33.3% for the year from 3!"
Gorman even tried to let him bail by saying something to the effect of "....well he is 0-14....so he would have to go on quite a run."
To which Tommy Responded "He has the ability to DO IT!"
Gorman: He has the abili <Insert audible head shake>......Celtics up by 4

I love Tommy too. Was Most still alive when Tommy Started doing games? We might have the all time longest run of Homer Announcers ever (and I love them for it). Though to be fair I havent listened to other teams announcers so maybe "homing" is more common then I think.

I'll miss Tommy (and Mike) when they are gone. I consider them a living connection between me and my grandfather, who I watched every Celtics game with back when I was kid. I still think of him every time I hear Tommy. I'm sure others have the same sort of connection. We have been so spoiled to have these guys for 40 years.

Tommy might be objectively a bad announcer and I can sympathize with fans of other teams who have to listen to him on league pass.

That being said, I cherish every single second we get to hear from him. He has been apart of the Celtics in some capacity since 1956; pretty much anything memorable in the entire history of the franchise has involved Tommy in some capacity. Yes he is old as dirt, gets some players names wrong and probably won't be talking about anybody's PER, but he still has so much passion and energy for the game and for the team that it doesn't matter, plus he obviously still has a great understanding of the fundamentals of the game. He represents a timelessness about the game that is overlooked when it comes to basketball.

Tommy is also a recognized painter, played a prominent role in the Players Union and once headed an insurance company.

Gorman is the perfect partner for him and he is my favorite play-by-play guy ever, in any sport.

Yes, but Most was on the radio. Heinsohn gave one of the eulogies at his funeral, fwiw.

For years, Heinsohn and Cousy tag teamed on the local television broadcasts; generally one would do home games and the other away. Every once in a while they would do a game together with Gorman, which was pretty cool.
