Toucher and Hardy: The new 98.5 morning show

Merriweather was in town and reached out to them directly. He apparently knew Rich was gone which I wasn’t sure of when he joked that Hardy stole his job on the show.
I have no doubt Fred is keeping a list of any guests that go to Rich’s show just once and blackballing them. He’s made a ton of comments about loyalty etc. He won, Rich lost, he should just let it go.
If you have to ask you know the answer. Fred's levels of insecurity are on par with Howard Stern's.
I don’t want to be mean, but… it is astonishing how Wallach can literally make a living calling basketball games and yet have nothing insightful to share about the sport ever.
I'm not one to pile on but Wallach literally gets so many things wrong it isn't even funny. Gorman has told a story (several times) over the years (not just on this show, I've heard him discuss it outside as well) that he and his wife were vacationing in a super remote Greek island, when they saw a Celtics fan. Mike and his wife thought it was hilarious out of all the places and teams, that person was somehow a Celtics fan. They didn't mention who Mike was, but was still pretty funny. Today, Wallach says that "Gorman gets recognized everywhere, like that time he was stopped on his vacation with his wife in Greece to talk basketball" - how can someone hear that story as many times as Wallach has, and still get it completely wrong?
Pretty tense convo between Hardy and Kendra this morning around their PGA picks this morning. He just seemed so annoyed with her.
I missed the back half but I heard him tear into her and I couldn't tell if it was a bit. I think it was to her "omg I make money off of feet pics but DON'T ASK ME TO SEND YOU FEET PICS" or something. Hardy referenced something like "and you keep mentioning something and then telling people not to do it, showing you obviously want it because you keep mentioning it"
It was actually about dick pics! She said something about how Hardy always jokes about her always being on her phone so she brought her laptop. She said “here, take my phone you can see all the dick pics I get!” And Hardy went off on her that she only gets them cause she talks about it constantly.
That's pretty great. I haven't heard her in a while but the last two times I did - in one, she was wearing furry pajamas, and in the other she told a story that had nothing whatsoever to do with what she was wearing, but she had to point out that she was wearing a t-shirt and panties at the time. To describe her as thirsty for social media attention is to put it very, very mildly. I know it's a thing nowadays but it isn't one that is in any way interesting.

Hardy does this weird thing when he does his recaps of last night. It's his attitude in delivering the news. Last night was a huge win for the Celtics and when he is telling what happened, I can just tell he is not serious and really doesn't give two shits about the game. He would rather have this "comedic" tone.
7:30am the morning after a huge Celtics win and BOTH shows are talking about the Pats. I know Breer's gig is a weekly thing, but I just can't bear it.

I don't think that's fair. Breer has his slot every week and of course they will talk football. The Cs won yet another game by double digits, in which (I think) they never trailed. It was game 2.
As soon as Breer left they went to the Cs.
Yes TSH is too Patriots heavy (I'm assuming eei is as well but I've never listened ) but unless there is a Boston based national story (I believe Breer was in when the Ime stuff broke and they discussed that all day) 7 to 8 on Fridays will always be Patriots/NFL

I'm just over 24/7/365 Pats talk. They're not that interesting anymore, especially when we're 2 months out from training camp.
They didn't even spend the whole hour on football. The first segment was Scottie Scheffler arrest, then one segment on football, and then Celtics street audio.
Great! Look, I tuned in for literally 30 seconds at 7:30am and it was Pats talk. I wasn't interested, flipped over to the iHeart app and Rich was talking about the Pats as well.
On Friday, May 24th at 7:30am I had zero interest in listening to Pats talk, and was disappointed that was what both Boston sports radio shows were offering. At this point I don't find either show compelling enough to stick with if the immediate topic isn't interesting to me.
So I turned to a Simmons pod.
Such is life.

The Dan the Wagon Man segment was solid as well. Millikens cousin seems to be able to laugh at himself which is good.

Except he didn’t at all. He didn’t bring it up, avoided it and then basically repeated what he said 15 years ago when pushed. Where was he dancing on his grave?
You should email them to let them know when you are tuning in and what you want them to talk about. They talked Celtics constantly that day except for a few segments.

I listened to the first hour on the podcast and there was a bunch of Burke voice stuff in the first segment or so. I found it pretty tedious so I skipped it but it was definitely there.

Why don't you become a PD at the station? The Scottie story was a national story that they absolutely had to report. The Pats coverage was a paid bit that lasted 15 mins at most. The rest of the time was Celtics talk. They really had to spend some time on the other two stories. It was unavoidable unfortunately.
I think you and @NortheasternPJ didn't get my main point. Obviously complaining about 30 seconds of a show is silly. I acknowledged that. The bigger point is that the current iteration of T&H, and Rich's show, haven't built up enough goodwill (at least with me, and me alone, I speak for no one else) for me to stick with segments that don't interest me.
Back in the heyday of T&R they did all sorts of segments that I didn't care for. But the show was so great that I'd hang in until the next one, which would often be gold.
You guys really like T&H. Awesome. I'm still lukewarm on it. We're just here talking.
I didn't listen, but it sounds like after an initial apology he doubled down a bit on that today, grumbling that "you can't make fun of hippies anymore" or something along those lines.
