I thought it was a great interview. They let her talk, challenged her on the obvious and when her bullshit got so stinky they started to call her on it. Nicely done.

Neumy must owe some $ on a bad bet at Pimlico or something. I wonder if he'll show up tomorrow or if one afternoon of Gresh will be all he can take?

As for the Jocelyn James interview - they were lobbing softballs until she wouldn't answer the question "do you have a photo of yourself & Tiger?" without the lawyer-speak. That was when it got interesting. At that point, Fred kept asking straight questions but Rich lost his patience and started dropping "whore" into the background of questions.

I think, based on listening to her very careful answers, that she has pictures of herself & Tiger engaged in some adult activities and that she's retained Gloria Allred to prevent a future extortion allegation while negotiating to "spare his family any more embarrassment". She wants to be paid - I don't doubt she "loved Tiger" in the way that a bear "loves" eating salmon. She believed he was going to leave the wife and was devastated when he dumped her after she escalated into Glenn Close-in-Fatal Attraction territory by showing up at his hotel during the meeting with the suits. But she's also not stupid - she bided her time, waited for Tiger to expose himself, and now can profit AND walk away without being "the bad guy".

And her heavy implication that Tiger wanted to "submissive activities" was clearly code for "he took it up the ass".

You have to be kidding me. Just turned on 98.5 to hear friggen Gresh again, filling in for Toucher and Rich. He is interviewing Shawn Thornton, and he starts out with..."So Shawn, yea, you got a good thing going with Toucher and Rich, tell me...uhhh, yea, tell me.." and it just got worse from there. As bad as he is generally, I never realized he was also such a bad interviewer. I should have known, but wow. I just don't get it.

I heard the same thing, then he said, "So tell me what it was like before the Pittsburgh game?"

Really? This seems like a good question to Gresh. A game that was played a week ago today, that has been analyzed and dissected from all angles, and after two games in which the Bruins looked pretty damn good beating their two closest competitors this is the Mr. Ed question he comes up with? He's a fucking dipshit with no understanding of news cycles or when a story is dead.

Ha, not only that, but after that questions he goes "so you were grumpy before the Pittsburgh game, tell me Shawn, how were you feeling after that game ended?"

I mean, really?

You know who Gresh sounds like? Eddie Trunk from VH1 Classic's "That Metal Show". I hate both of their fucking fat voices.

It's interesting that two of the worst personalities in Boston Sports radio (Gresh and LJ) share so many personality traits, whis still being annoying in different ways.

Both Guys:

  • Are morbidly obese
  • Overbearingly dominate the conversation
  • Despite having only tite observation (which they dispense as though they are sage wisdom
  • Are dumber than mulch piles

I simply don't understand why 'EEI and TSH keep trotting these guys out there. We can't be the only ones who hate them, yet there must be more people out there who do like them. They must have the numbers to show it. So I guess there are a lot of stupid people out and about in the world.

They trot them out there because those jackasses know they have zero talent, but will work for peanuts and will work any hour.

You want someone to work on a summer Saturday when most people are at the beach? Call LJ or Gresh.
You want someone to work the late shift then wake up three hours later to work the morning shift? Call LJ or Gresh.

And like I said previously, they'll work for nothing. LJ is old and an "artist" so I bet the EEI money is gravy to him. I can't imagine that anyone would consistently fuck Andy Gresh, so I have to assume that he lives by himself and has no one to support except his 18,000 calorie a day intake. So basically, he's working for Crisco and pizza. Plus, he probably thinks that he's "paying his dues" and will help him down the line.

Hopefully, his heart will stop before that happens.

Didn't Gresh & Zolak co-host a show on a RI sports station? And isn't that station now out of business?

TSH management needs to look at how well unknown Damon Amendolara is doing and realize that the "names" they hired to grab initial ratings can, and should, be replaced. Gresh would be a great 12-5 overnight and weekend guy where he can't hurt the ratings of T&R or Felger & Mazz. I tune away the moment I hear his voice.

It is amazing how someone like Gresch can force you to another station. I love T&R and I'm thrilled that they have found a home on TSH, but I would not listen to one minute of the show this morning once I heard Gresch. I think JMOH has it right. He's a cheap fill-in for any regular, at any time. TSH probably has decided that the short term turn-off is not worth a larger financial outlay for someone better.

I'm not a huge fan of Adam Jones, but he's 100,000 times better than Gresh. One has to think he works for pretty cheap, considering he's young.

I mean, is he not "edgy" enough for a morning/afternoon drive fill-in? (And by edgy, of course, I mean loud, obnoxious, etc).

I think that's exactly the case. Adam Jones seems to be pretty smart and knows what he is talking about, but at times he can be boring or plain. I think he suffers from the same thing that affects John Risch. Risch knows a lot about sports, but he is very vanilla, so for whatever reason the powers that be at WEEI just assume we'd rather hear Larry Johnson.

Rich just posted on Facebook that they promise tomorrow's announcement is not an April Fool's joke. He could still be full of shit, but I'm a little more interested now. My guess is new contracts for Fred and Rich, not so sure for Crash though, I don't see him sticking around much longer since he essentially has no role on the show at all.

It probably is something either contract or crash related, however I would love for it to be Adofo knocking his girl up.

Facebook's buzzing that it's Crash announcing his departure from the show. Sucks, but can't say it's that surprising if true.

I remember him mentioning a while back that he would love to work for a classic rock station, so maybe he moves to zlx. Then again since he was down in Atlanta where he was previously employed, he could be going back to where he started in radio.

Tomorrow's show is going to probably be the best show since they've joined 98.5. Anyone who only started listening to these guys once they came to The Sports Hub NEED to listen tomorrow to understand how incredible this show was on WBCN.

100% agree. I really can't wait to hear the show, hopefully the podcast goes up quickly, I'll definitely download it and save it. I can't wait to hear some of the bits they bring back out that they've had hidden for a while. Very sad news that he's gone, but the news of the overall extension is fantastic. Makes sense now why they had to announce it today, despite being April Fools Day.

Toucher with a little rant stating how much he's wanted to say something but has been sitting on it for a while. Those that were saying they were leaving, wouldn't last, internet blogger.

They said it will be Crash's "goodbye show". They didn't exactly say what that would entail, but Rich proclaimed that Tom Brady could get traded to the Jets tonight and they still would only do Crash stuff tomorrow. Needless to say, I'm guessing a lot of clips and a lot of guest appearances/phone calls.

For me? The funniest thing I could think of would be to get Intern Nick to come back and read a goodbye promo for Crash. Those things were so fucking hilarious.

Since it's Crash's final show they're going to bring out all the best old bits and audio involving Crash, which was some of the show's best stuff back on WBCN. I really hope they play a few "Ask Crash" segments from WBCN, those were great.

Just turned on the show, I thought today was "Crash" day. They are talking hockey right now did I miss some great stuff or did he not show?

They replayed the infamous Wing Bowl appearance at 7. They said they'd play all of his best moments throughout the day.

In there
Jesus, Wallach is sabotaging T&R. Terrible radio. He's stifling Toucher and Rich, constantly repeating points by Toucher, making inane observations... Ugh.

Crash is sorely missed already. Forcing T&R to be so heavy on sports is going to backfire.

What? The show was the exact same as it's been for months. And during my half hour of listening, they talked about the Yankees, the Sox supposed focus on defense, the sex of Toucher and Rich's kids and how to deliver that news to family, and Adolfo's Easter plans. Where's the "so heavy on sports"?

It's not like this was anything new. Did you have this post written and ready to go as soon as Crash said he was leaving, regardless of what happened on air?

I have been listening since 7 and as TFP said, it's been nothing different than it's always been. Crash didn't do a whole lot day to day, he would have a day here and there where he would shine, but he wasn't regularly involved in the show on-air. Wallach isn't talking anymore than he normally does.
