I thought it was pretty good. It jumped around a bit, but I liked it overall. It reminded me of when T and R had around a month of mornings on WBCN where they played no music (because the news broke that BCN was done and they were flipping formats). They had to fill 4 hours (minus commercials) a day. I remember one of them saying how brutal it was, but it was basically a podcast at that point.

The interview with the three soldiers from the quick response team in Benghazi was on this morning. Great interview, high recommended.

Looks like I won't be listening to the show until next week.

Toucher and Rich ‏@Toucherandrich 51m51 minutes ago

Just saw The Force Awakens. Not allowed to say anything until tomorrow and it's killing me.
I fastforwarded through most of this segment but Rich's story about how he got into the screener was pretty good.

Also, Wallach admitted that he went to Portland, ME for the first time over Thanksgiving. How is that possible?

No Mike and Mike for you? They stick to sports most of the time and are not part of the vast vile racist homophobic right wing conspiracy. Just curious, you mention you are not part of the T and R demographic. Exactly how old are you? I always pictured you being in your mid to late 40s or early 50s. Sorry if I'm too nosey.

Can you even get a reliable ESPN signal in Boston? I've gotten one driving up to Vermont but don't care enough to try to get one in Boston.

The uno commercial makes watching the simulcast almost impossible. Rare that an ad would cause me to not want to go to a place....
Having T&R on this morning, the same Unos commercial came on, but the guy has a new voice. It's not great but it's better. Maybe they finally got enough negative feedback?

I saw that during the football games yesterday too. The dubbed over voice may be "better", but they really should just scrap the commercial all together. The actor who played the "Italian" must be on suicide watch right now.

Yikes. Did anyone hear the Boomer interview this morning? He blew off the Manning HGH report because Al-Jazeera is just some "middle eastern company" that has been around misreporting things for years and slinging things out there and it's a shame they are allowed to, etc. Just a disgruntled employee and bitter reporter is all it is. I'm looking for a transcript...

The full on "it comes from one of those moslem countries outfits" excuse is disappointing, but not surprising.

Peyton and the other players involved couldn't have asked for a better place for that story to originate from if they picked it themselves.

Yeah it was really bad and made Boomer sound really really ignorant. I'm: a. disappointed someone (most likely Fred) didn't challenge him on his statements; and b. honestly a little surprised they even aired that part of the interview.

Fred was playing Mr. Contrarian about everything today. He would rather play the Steelers than the Chiefs. Who cares about the Manning HGH story v. Deflategate coverage etc. His annual "traveling SUCKS" rant made me laugh though.

His travel story today was pretty damn funny. He was going after Spirit on Twitter, which only pissed him off more since they don't have a social media team and it's just an automated response.

I was waiting for someone to utter those words, I'm kind of surprised Boomer did. I figured Mike Ditka would have.

I didn't hear the show but if you travel on Spirit you have to expect a nightmare they make United and American look competent and friendly.

I love this show but if Adolfo was never heard from or spoken of again I would be happy. I just don't care. Also don't care about Fred sounding like he should be working across the street ranting against kids these days and "Generation Wuss"

I missed it. What happened? Screw up a guest?
A guest's call dropped and they jokingly said Adolfo had dropped the call and he got really defensive, Fred said he had turned into a stereotypical millennial and said he was a member of "generation wuss" and Adolfo flipped out and asked Fred if he wanted to step outside and settle their issues. It didn't sound like a joke at all and Rich immediately stopped the bit and asked if he was really seriously threatening a co-worker on the air. They came back and aired all of their grievances with each other and Fred/Rich both sound really exasperated with Adolfo and his attitude. Rich said he's been one of his best friends for 10 years and that something has changed with him. Really didn't sound like a work at all. Rich asked him several times if he still had any interest in working for the show.

As someone who basically never listens and was tuning in for the Brinson interview this Adolfo discussion/greivance was torturous and just plain awful radio.

Yeah, Fred started comparing it to similar Howard Stern moments like when AJ Benza got fired for hitting Stuttering John. I just started shaking my head at that point.

I haven't listened to T&R in about six months (not because I don't like them, but because of other reasons). What I really disliked about T&R (and Stern when I listened to him) was when they would throw Adolpho (or in Stern's case, one of the Whack Pack) on the air. To me, that's boring, lazy radio. Hey let's look at this weirdo and laugh at him. They can say that they don't do that, but 90% of the comedy that derives from these interactions are making fun of Adolpho (or Stuttering John or High-Pitched Eric or whomever) and being the big shot.

I always, always, always changed the channel when that came on.

Does anyone know what the Bill Simmons thing they were talking during this is?

I think it was something along the lines of this: T and R gave Simmons the hotline number so he could call in whenever he wanted. He called in randomly one morning and somehow got hung up on and the guys were pissed. I don't think it was all Adolpho's fault because at one point they were putting some of the blame on Dan, the producer of the show.

He didn't get hung up on, Adolpho didn't let him on the air because they were in the middle of an interview. They were pissed once they found out Simmons had been on the phone and they weren't told about it.

My mistake...that is actually worse. Do you remember who the interview was with?

Fred was talking during the first couple of minutes this morning that "a guy from SoSH" (the correct long O way) would be on at 9 to break down the pats/Broncos matchup and that the "SoSH guy" would tell us why we all have to be worried Sunday. He said SoSH like 5 times. Is this "us" and if it is, I assume it's one of the Pylon guys....who is it?

I missed it...earlier this morning they were semi-arguing about Fred "knowing" Rich's twittering habit while Rich was at home. Rich got real defensive...was it about that?

No, they were talking about John Scott/Dennis Wideman/NHL conspiracy stuff.

Rich had brought up that Fred sometimes over reacted to management making comments to him, which caused Fred to go off the deep end and say that "maybe I should just leave the station and let you spend the whole show just talking about my problems."

He seemed genuinely pissed.

Did they can Adolpho? Rich made an odd comment this morning. Talking about Isaiah Thomas participating in the skills competition next weekend he said something like "the Taco Bell Skills Challenge... that sounds like something... i can't say that anymore... that someone i know would participate in"

I just talked to Adolpho when trying to win the Bill Burr tickets, so he's still around.
I think they must have had a talking to by management that they can't make fun of him anymore on air. There was the Taco Bell joke that couldn't be made last week that would probably have been about him. Then today Zolak was in and started making fun of him and there was a pause and Fred said something like "you can go down that road yourself" and changed the subject.

It probably sucks for them because half the reason he's on the show is to be a punchline (The other half being that he is legitimately good at getting street audio. It's the only time I can tolerate him). It doesn't seem like he's good in the day to day running of the show but I'm glad because the less Adolpho on air the better

Sounds like he may have complained about bullying and workplace harrassment. Just a guess, no knowledge of the situation.
