Kind of a strange decision but I'm interested to see how it plays out
It's not that strange. They didn't want the deadline to fall on a Sunday when most teams have day games, so they moved it to Monday afternoon, when there are no day games.

What changes do you think this will cause?

They've moved it one day, and only because it was to have fallen on a Sunday. How differently do you expect it to play out?
Probably nothing major, but it's extra time to evaluate potential playoff chances.

I don't seriously expect anything big to come of it, but it'd be interesting if it did.

The non-waiver trade deadline day (be it 7/31 or 8/1) should be a National holiday, It will be when I'm elected President.

I'm a little bummed we won't have #HugWatch to enjoy this year.
