Or being added to the 40-man roster until he's ready or they have to (next December). He’s not skipping AAA.
Can he even walk right now?Any chance they extend Schwarber or does he walk?
Lol what? This team is overachieving one year after trading away one of the best players in franchise history and starting an organizational rebuild.Bloom young and relatively inexperienced. Was he in over his head for this important trade deadline?
The sad thing is that the last few pages of this thread are such ass that I legit can't tell if this is sarcasm.HE DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO RUN A TEAM IN A BIG MARKET!
If they were going to have a 1b skip AAA, Pedro would be a better choice than Casas. At least on 7/30/21.He’s not skipping AAA.
Does Soria have a papi that played MLB?
I sure am! He makes Dalbec look like Wade Boggs.Well, Chavis is gone. Folks should be happy with that subtraction, no?
Yeah, those Tampa guys are such hacks. Look at how that Friedman clown ruined the Dodgers. God help us if Bloom turns out like that idiot.I know most people don't agree with this sentiment, but I liked it more when we weren't run by a Tampa guy and acted like the big market team that we are.
Trading Chavis for Davis is like rearranging deck chairs on a submarine. The sad thing is that the last few pages of this thread are such ass that I legit can't tell if this is sarcasm.
Will Middlebrooks 2.0I'm in a minority, but I am disappointed Chavis didn't pan out. He looked the part. When he came up i REALLY thought he was gonna be a legit ballplayer.
I think it's Schwarber unless one of the other outfielders (JDM?) wants the job. I don't think it's Dalbec/Cordero.May belong in another thread, but what are the Red Sox going to do about 1B goign forward? They were so concerned that they put their primary 2B there and almost killed him.
- Hope Dalbec learns how to hit (or not strike out)
- Platoon Dalbec/Cordero (as seems to be the case) and hope Cordero's Worcester Miracle translates to real baseball
- Try Schwarber out as a work-in-progress and hope he doesn't Arroyo himself
- Ditto Plawecki
- Count on Marwan to find his stroke again and make him the everyday 1B
I guess it's status quo. Dalbec/Cordero and hoe for improvement.
I'm pretty sure it is. But yeah, this has been bad sports talk radio. The sad thing is that the last few pages of this thread are such ass that I legit can't tell if this is sarcasm.
is there a possibility Verdugo could play first? Allowing Schwarber to play LF?Everything is fine if Schwarber can play first.
I'd much rather just try Schwarber at first.is there a possibility Verdugo could play first? Allowing Schwarber to play LF?
Trading Chavis for new towels and a 250CT bottle of Acetaminophen would be a win for Bloom. And this submarine of which you speak is a half game off the best record in the AL.Trading Chavis for Davis is like rearranging deck chairs on a submarine.
Pimpin’ is easy. Tell ‘em, Wash.I guess it's status quo. Dalbec/Cordero and hoe for improvement.
That’s a net negative at two different defensive spots instead of one.is there a possibility Verdugo could play first? Allowing Schwarber to play LF?
He doesn’t walk for awhile because of the hamstring.Any chance they extend Schwarber or does he walk?
If you're choosing to move someone to a new position, you don't move the stronger defender at the position they share.is there a possibility Verdugo could play first? Allowing Schwarber to play LF?
Everyone loves to talk about Tampa, but y'all really wanna trade the LITERAL championship success the Red Sox have had for a few 90 win seasons that fall short of the playoffs, one playoff series that extended beyond the Division Series the last 10 seasons, and I guess some fun prospects?Yeah, those Tampa guys are such hacks. Look at how that Friedman clown ruined the Dodgers. God help us if Bloom turns out like that idiot.
Don't tell that to Jeter. If you're choosing to move someone to a new position, you don't move the stronger defender at the position they share.
Rest assured, it was.The sad thing is that the last few pages of this thread are such ass that I legit can't tell if this is sarcasm.
Google Andrew Friedman.Everyone loves to talk about Tampa, but y'all really wanna trade the LITERAL championship success the Red Sox have had for a few 90 win seasons that fall short of the playoffs, one playoff series that extended beyond the Division Series the last 10 seasons, and I guess some fun prospects?
It isn't.He doesn’t walk for awhile because of the hamstring.
In all seriousness, I’m a bit frustrated too, but what deals could the Sox have gotten in and matched the prospects that were actually taken. Seems our farm just wasn’t there yet.
I meant the post in general, not the poster of course.Rest assured, it was.
Andrew Friedman did pretty well moving from TB to the Dodgers, I'm sure Chaim will spend when the time is right.
Benitendi fits in the equation somewhere.Dalbec might be 3.0.
Among others:You may not be aware, but people aren't pining for Bloom to bring in just ANYONE on an MLB roster.
Bloom currently putting the finishing touches on the "We are acquiring Chris Sale, so we're really trade deadline winners" statement that he'll be giving to the media shortly.
I don’t know how we can’t get at least a reliever upgrade for some superfluous guys who won’t make the 40 man. Fulmer from Detroit? Etc.
People were whining on this thread because we hadn't brought in anyone today. Well we brought in 2 relievers. Not the ones most people here wanted, but apparently ones Bloom wanted. So the Giants, the last remaining team that hadn’t made a move, finally do something. Can’t wait to hear Chaim’s spin on this, including how he’ll sell this to the locker room. “Nice season so far guys, unfortunately we didn’t want to pay for any help for you unlike every other team you’re going to play moving forward. Good luck!”
Then stop saying they should emulate Tampa and talk more about the Dodgers, I’m sick of hearing that the Boston fucking Red Sox should try and act more like a team that has had one successful postseason push in a decade and it was during a write-off seasonGoogle Andrew Friedman.
You're obviously just going to keep talking past Andrew Friedman's example of transferring the TB approach to a big market team.Everyone loves to talk about Tampa, but y'all really wanna trade the LITERAL championship success the Red Sox have had for a few 90 win seasons that fall short of the playoffs, one playoff series that extended beyond the Division Series the last 10 seasons, and I guess some fun prospects?
Nobody doubts his success here so far! But I'm talking about one specific part of the job, which is what this thread is about - a pressure trade deadline as a buyer. It's not something he's had to do and may have been overmatched..just my opinion.Lol what? This team is overachieving one year after trading away one of the best players in franchise history and starting an organizational rebuild.
Tossing long term progress out the window for the chance to possibly chase a championship is now how you have sustained success.
Seeing the insane prices people were paying only reaffirmed my belief that Chaim knows exactly what he’s doing and exactly where the organization stands as a whole.
Benintendi has been a solid major leaguer. The other 3 are nowhere close.Benitendi fits in the equation somewhere.
Got it. Just trying to figure out how he is going to get into the lineup in a way that actually improves the team.If you're choosing to move someone to a new position, you don't move the stronger defender at the position they share.
Sadly, this isn't a new trend. The sad thing is that the last few pages of this thread are such ass that I legit can't tell if this is sarcasm.
It’s no accident the Dodgers perennially have one of the best farm systems in baseball. Then stop saying they should emulate Tampa and talk more about the Dodgers, I’m sick of hearing that the Boston fucking Red Sox should try and act more like a team that has had one successful postseason push in a decade and it was during a write-off season
Friedman is emulating Tampa with the Dodgers, only with a big fucking budget. Bloom right now is Friedman in 2015 or so.Then stop saying they should emulate Tampa and talk more about the Dodgers, I’m sick of hearing that the Boston fucking Red Sox should try and act more like a team that has had one successful postseason push in a decade and it was during a write-off season
I think this is a real possibility. Duran has until Arroyo is ready to come off the IL (or Schwarber if Arroyo is first) to show he can hit at the major league level. If not, they send him down and have him on the playoff roster for speed off the bench. They may still just put Arroyo at 1B. Kike at 2B with Schwarber/Verdugo/Renfroe OF. Duran back to AAA when Schwarber ready.
