Sweet strike today from Enner Valencia, who had a nice World Cup for Ecuador and could be one of the best lower profile buys of the off-season in the Premier League.

2 goals by Seung-woo Lee:

One of the top U-16 players in the world. Striker for FC Barcelona Juvenil A team. Nicknamed "Korean Messi" by the Daily Mail (link):

South Korean wonderkid Lee, who scored a truly brilliant goal in the Asian under-16 Championships in Thailand against Malaysia, is a similar hot prospect.

He took on several defenders, beating them all, before firing home from the edge of the box with aplomb.

The Daily Mail's Robin Cottle claimed Lee has been labelled the "Korean Messi" and that he has "outperformed Messi at under-15 level for the Spanish club, bagging 38 goals in just 29 games compared with the Argentine's 37 in 30."

Not a goal but this seems like the closest thing to an all purpose video thread.  Gattuso is the best.  He's probably totally shit as a manager but it would be awesome if he came to England and took over some Championship or lower table side.

Paco Alcacer is having a breakout year for Valencia and seems likely to become one of the hottest names on the transfer market in the next year or two.  This isn't the most amazing 40 yard strike or anything like that but its pretty damn impressive.  This kid can bury a half chance or quarter chance like few other players.

The Dani Alves touch here is absurdly difficult:

Jagielka's phenomenal volley to save points against Liverpool in added time:

The Alves touch is great, but that pass from Xavi is other-worldly.  40 yards on a dime, and the topspin to take it over the defender and drop it right onto Alves' foot is just incredible.  God, I'm going to miss him when he's gone.

That's me as well...it was a great play by Alves, but only possible because of the service.

I'm picking nits here, but you see professionals hit the Xavi ball with some regularity. The ball wasn't moving and no one was marking him. Dani OTOH, had to make a 20-yard sprint, never take his eye off the ball, know where Messi was going to be, avoid defenders and the keeper, and knock a 40-yard ball out of the air. Anyhoo, let's all just appreciate it and post more goals in here! I watch the EPL highlight show every week and there's 2-3 goals each week that deserve to be in here.

There's nothing like a full volley on the drop from 25 yards out....unless of course it's from 30-35 yards.

Starting at 3:10 a truly hillariously ugly goal setup from the Championship, I think 5 players fall down without contact before the score, including the rarely seen complete whiff on a shot attempt so hard you fall down.

Erik Lamela scored an outrageous goal today -- a rabona from 20 yards:

Martin Keown wasn't impressed. He just said the player was showing off on Footbal Focus. No idea why he'd say that about a Spurs player.
