Coming on February 6.
Pitchers and Catchers report on February 13.

Let the countdown begin for the 2017 Championship season!

I was going to go with Nomar, but we never won it all with him on the team.

I don't think I have ever needed the diversion of baseball as I do now.

(Then we really have forgotten what the week after 9/11 felt like.)
Come on. At least then, reasonable Americans of all political and social leanings could join hands united in response to a terrible event of unprovoked malice and hatred. There was a general feeling of solidarity even in that first week, which helped the nation stand strong in spite of the terror; that resilient spirit should be remembered, too, along with the fallen.

In this space, maybe we could just hope for some damn good baseball in the days and months to come. Each of 1967, 1975, and 1986 had some seriously troubling national and world events happen, too.

Yes, but I remember the first night at the ballpark after the break, and that diversion was desperately needed back then.

And yes, needed even more than now.

They should delay this 24 hours and have the truck bring up the rear of the Patriots parade. Kind of like Santa @ the end of the Macy's Thanksgiving parade

My daughter was asking me last night when actual baseball starts. I said spring training next week...no, no, no. Actual games, she says.

Me: Early April..., Her: Grrrr...that's too long!
Me: I know honey

Benintendi has apparently gained 15 pounds over the offseason. I'm legit excited for what this kid could do. Hoping for a Mookie-like breakout season from him.

Mookie? I'm more bullish than that. Andrew is something very, very, special. He's going to join the Red Sox LF Pantheon.

He's going to be better than the #3 player in the Major Leagues by FWAR? If there were Benintendi stock, I would be buying, but that forecast is bold.

Yup. If, hypothetically, the Angels wanted to trade us Trout but the package had to include either Mookie or Benintendi, well, I would be very sad to see Mookie go. I don't really have any data to back that up, but there's something about him. I'd compare his eyes to Jeter's but that would get me kicked off the board.

I read that Betts is Benintendi's #1 PECOTA comp, which is weird for a few reasons (LHH/RHH, NCAA/HS), but a very good sign. PECOTA being what it is, I guess it just means young player with tremendous minor league batting lines.

Great to see you awake and on guard early in the am. Given there is a snowstorm in New England today, not sure including the 71 degree temperature for the early am was your kindest move.
Enjoy the boys while they are playing in your backyard and we await photos.
