It always makes me giggle to see that they pack bubble gum and sunflower seeds in the truck like they can't get them in Ft Myers.

Wow. Already. In just a few weeks we can pass the time with baseball again, as we are meant to.

I miss back when this day was a major event in my household. Here's hoping the 2023 team revives something in my cold, dead heart, so that it becomes so once again.

Let's not get carried away. It's almost ten below zero at my house. Still, it was clever of those baseballs to head south and escape this weather.
And I am looking forward to ST. Pitchers and catchers is when?
February 15th.

EDIT: the 13th for WBC pitchers.

I don’t understand why they don’t just ship this stuff to florida when they buy it, but it’s a milestone.

Care to share? I don’t know that info…
Because of interleague play, there is no intrigue in the Sox playing at the Braves, or the Phillies playing in Boston or similar. Every team plays every other team now, so who would go see the Sox at the Nats in a game that doesn't count when they will be there later in the season anyway?

Why’s the Philly game a 12pm start? Especially with the cross-FL commute the day before?

Oh… duh right! I thought perhaps it was something way more insidious. Someone sleeping with someone? Murder…. I’m bored apparently

Geography produces intrigue I guess! FIVE times we get to see the Bravos

wondering how many of those weget to see Acuna and if he gets his trade wish. Fun player when he’s healthy at at his best.

In addition, I thought the attraction of these games also extended to giving MLB stadiums a run-through before an opening day sellout. In some cases, the players also get a little taste of the non-Florida weather as they head north.

Still that cold? My wife was back there visiting her sister a couple of weeks ago and y'all had below zero temps for her for a couple of days. Below 50 is our below zero!

So then, why would anyone go to a spring training game? Aren't they just gonna play each other once the season starts??

What's this?
Think you're in the wrong thread and posting about a rumor, which also has nothing to do with the Red Sox at that
In EyeBob's defense, he didn't bring it up first. He was responding to this from earlier in the thread...

But the overall point is this...unsubstantiated rumors from anonymous troll accounts on Twitter shouldn't be brought the board at all. Though apparently an exception is made for "rumor" threads that are already off the rails anyway. This thread isn't that (nor is the MLB Offseason thread).

They only packed white game jerseys? Nothing for the road? Or green for St. Patrick's Day?

Practice games for tryout purposes in the florida sun at S.T. prices <> exhibition games in a big league stadium at big league prices
Fair point (FL sun in March is about as good as it gets) but if you factor in travel & lodging expenses to travel to FL it might actually be cheaper to catch the local pre-season game. Obviously depends on where you live.
