Jake Paul gave him a Rolex before the match a few days ago because he said it was “Time” to knock him out.Jeez I hope Woodley got paid a lot of money

At one point Woodley literally judo body slammed Jake, and the ref was like "Don't do that again." I love how you get one free body slam in boxing.Jake Paul just murdered Woodley.
Do you remember a thread from years ago -- P&G -- about inventions? Someone said they'd invent vacations on a blimp and we endlessly quoted Skytanic? I saw Skytanic a few months ago and started laughing when I remembered that thread. Most fun I've had on hereYeah, this conversation is absurd. In order for a fight to be Hagler/Hurns, it better be the best UFC fight you've ever seen, and most likely the best you'll ever see.
That was embarrassing by Gane in the 5th round. I didn’t listen to the scores because I was disgusted. If he only lost by 1 rd; that’s on him. He had the 5th round won and either went for a footlock or let himself get scissor swept and then tried the heel hook. Even after all that stupidity he still could have used his position to stand up. Francis looked like shit walking into the cage; something wasnt right with him.Ngannou wins by decision due to his wrestling. WTF?
Yup, it was especially dumb because, as good as Francis was getting take downs, he was too tired and too inexperienced to do anything on the ground. Cyril could have just laid on top of him for 3 minutes and won the fight. That was embarrassing by Gane in the 5th round. I didn’t listen to the scores because I was disgusted. With that skill level in that weight class, possibly not much. In 4 years he shot up the ranks undefeated to a fight with Ngannou. This is a teachable moment for him, like Stipe #1 was for Ngannou. I forgot how graceful he looked in the octagon (as a fucking HW), and am looking forward to seeing him fight in the future.Has he ever faced adversity before?
Yeah, I'm looking forward to this main card.Fun card tonight on PPV. Izzy and Bobby Knuckles will rematch in the main event. I think the blue print to beat style bender was written by Blazowski but I don't know if Whittaker has the wrestling chops plus there will be no size advantage. One fight where I wish both guys could walk away the winner.
In the semi main event, Derrick Lewis will fight Tai Tuivasa. Two heavyweights who just love to bang. I think the fight is above Tuivasa's level but his aggressive style could work if he can land a big blow.
The Cannonier vs Brunson winner should be next in line to fight the main event winner.
Ugh. No.Former champ Cain Velasquez held on attempted murder charges after shooting at a man who allegedly molested an underage relative.
https://www.yahoo.com/sports/report-cain-velasquez-allegedly-shot-023043632.html
Even worse:While the alleged victim of sexual abuse’s identity is being withheld due to their status as a minor, the accused man is Harry Eugene Goularte, 43, who lives in San Martin, Calif. at a home-daycare business run by his mother.
Rumor is it was Cain's child. If true...I understand.court documents reveal the alleged abuse of Velasquez’s family member may have occurred “100 times.”
Not being a fan of either Covington or Masvidal, I find myself oddly invested and looking forward to Saturday's main event. The coverage so far has been great. I *think* Covington is the much better fighter and will wear Masvidal out to a decision but the hatred each have for the other makes for some good theater.
In the semi main event, Fiziev is out after testing positive for covid. There are a few fighters that have volunteered to face Dos Anjos. Islam Makachev, Renato Moicano, and Tony Ferguson have all said they could do it. Islam would be the most exciting matchup and push this card from below average to a standard PPV.
What I don’t understand is why he would want to use a gun when you would think he’d gain much more satisfaction in beating the guy with his hands given his background. He maybe could even have gotten away with a simple misdemeanor too.Rumor is it was Cain's child. If true...I understand.
Sounds like it was a drive by. Maybe he thought he could get away with murder? What I don’t understand is why he would want to use a gun when you would think he’d gain much more satisfaction in beating the guy with his hands given his background. Hi friend!Pretty surprised at the amount of people I'm seeing who seem to think it is okay for Cain to go out as a vigilante and shoot the wrong guy.

Agree with all of this. Aspinall is pretty damn quick for a big man. He’s going to get killed the second he faces someone ranked. He gets hit way too much.
Great card tonight though. Aspinall looked really impressive.
Couldn't they have also just calibrated the scale on their own? It's not rocket science. I'd want that done every time I weighed in leading up to a fight no matter what scale I was using. I agree that it's probably better to have your own, trusted scale with all that money and a title on the line, but calibration is the least they could have done. I bet they start doing it now.I mean, if you’re not traveling with your own scale for a fight - never mind a title fight - you’re taking risks. But you’re right - both very likeable fighters and it’s a shame the fight won’t be what it might’ve been.
Exactly what I had in mind and why I doubt it is true, at least for Oliveira. I just don't think the champ who has been around a long time and missed weight more than once would trust his belt and career to a hotel scale.I mean, if you’re not traveling with your own scale for a fight - never mind a title fight - you’re taking risks.
I have a buddy fighting on the card. I'm sure he's busy now, but I'll reach out to him after the fights and find out the story.First reports are always wrong. Apparently it wasn't a hotel scale, but the backstage scale that fighter's use before going out for the official weigh in on stage. And it was .5 off, not 2 pounds.

Fighters were told that morning and most were able to adjust. Really sucks for Do Bronx.
I'm curious if scales are managed by the UFC or the sanctioning commission. I would think the commission would control all that in order to try and prevent shenanigans, but I don't know how it works.
