Man, Mike Bradley hates Mexico. That's the best thing he's done since his game against them pre World Cup

Michael Bradley's first positive contribution against a legitimate opponent in what... 6 years? 9 years?

It's been a while.

I'm still not sure how the US can build up play consistently in this formation, but as a counter attack formation, it should work well. The speed out wide and the smart pressing by Pulisic and Wood will cause problems. I am worried about the space behind Yedlin and Beasley. The CBs moving out to sweep up that space will leave channels that Bradley & Acosta have to fill.

That's the sort of small disorganization from the backline that we can't afford.

Seemed like it was unnecessary for Gonzalez to give that touch for the Mexico corner, but no harm done.

Wood is doing exactly what we need him to do tonight. Good hold up play so far.

Am I crazy, or are the Mexican fans booing our black players a little bit extra?

Gonzalez WHIFFED.

Fuck.

Acosta got caught in no man's land, he can't leave Beasley isolated on someone as good as Carlos Vela.

For those more tactically knowledgable, Did Cameron screw up there by coming too deep in to the box as Beasley wast tracking towards the middle?

Edit: @Cellar-Door answers.

I kinda disagree with the announcer, gotta force Vela to the outside to cross or otherwise passes. If they score off a cross, fine. Can't let him inside for the easier shot attempt.

I thought it was Acosta, but either way, there were 4 defenders other than Beasley in the box with only one Mexican player for them to cover.
