Because he was in between squaring and taking the guy who was in front of him who the puck hits. If he squared the puck still hits the Kings player so complaining about this is just shitting on Forbort because he’s Forbort. Maybe he should’ve boxed the Kings guy out better but that then creates a huge screen in front of Ullmark.
I would give the guy a break on that one if he wasn’t consistently performing poorly at the things that he’s supposed to be good at. He’s a defensive defenseman that doesn’t block shots well, can’t clear the puck, and routinely gets lost in coverage. The only thing he contributes to is goals against. He deserves no benefit of the doubt, and I can’t wait until he’s off this team.

This isn’t the benefit of the doubt. It’s objectively what happened. Him going out to block the shot / cover the Kings guy slowed the Kings guy’s momentum and made him a much easier target to hit and have a fortuitous bounce. He does plenty of bad stuff, this isn’t one of them. Marchand’s probably the biggest one to blame on that for not doing a better job shutting off the D to D option given they had solid enough coverage down low.

Hard agree with Kenney.

You could be annoyed with McAvoy too for letting his man get inside positioning before giving 28 grief. Or 37 for losing the draw.
But sometimes a team just makes a play.

Really frustrating to not get 2 points last night - and the way it happened - while trying to catch the Leafs.

Not sure if this is a serious comment or not, but Pittsburgh didn't switch to their black and gold unis until the middle of the 1980 season. The Bruins went full black and gold way back in1935. Dates/uni information courtesy of: http://www.nhluniforms.com
That's a fun website. Chicago definitely needs to go back to their black sweaters at some point. California Golden Seals definitely brought the ABA vibes every year to great results. I also wasn't aware of the prior existence of so many teams like the Atlanta Flames, or the Kansas City Scouts. The Colorado Rockies had some awesome sweaters that would sell really well nowadays with the prominent state flag emblem. The late 70s Canucks sweaters with the inverted peak template are all beauties.

The Seals were a Charles O. Finley team. Same color scheme as the Oakland A's.

The one thing I couldn't figure out was what Bergeron and McAvoy were doing in coverage. They bracketed the center and allowed the winger (or vice versa) to get under McAvoy and right next to the net.

Looked like 73 stepped up to play the stick of the center but he should have been locking up the winger's stick
